Gianfranco_Z 202
joe cole... hahhahahahhahe's a little boy, the day hell freezes over is the day he will have any leadership role at this club.this is why ballack is our 3rd choice, because you can tell from the body language alone that he demands respect. unlike joe cole who's always injured anyway.Little boy?!Wow, you sound like a mug. Joe is great at this club, has supported us since being young and as people have mentioned has alot of passion for the club. He wouldn't be my personal choice but he is a good choice for contender...Have a think before you laugh something off so quickly. Joe Cole is a legend, and sorry if my reply sounds short and harsh but I don't take kindly to one of my faviroute players being referred to as 'little boy'

You do nothing but slag the club & players off.

boshman 1,073
I think it's got to be Drogba or Ballack. Both captains of their national teams, both excel when their the main men. They have also had the armband before. No question for me that 3rd is Drogba or Ballack.

Him and Essien were two leaders on the field during the Grant era when a lot of players just wanted to jump ship and follow Mourinho to Inter.I agree Ballack is a superior option for 3rd captain, but clearly don't have a clue what you are talking about on this forum. Elliott 7
What I think Terminator X is trying to say in his very obtuse way is that Joe Cole does not have leadership qualities even if he has supported the club since childhood and has been with us for so long and is a modern legend. To lead such a special club you need a special leader, and Joe Cole is not it, great though he is at what he does. It's patheticAs others stated, they agree with your overall point but your choice of words are embarrassingPosting little insults or "lol" in every post only makes you look worse whenever you try to argue a point. Then again, I am talking to someone who tried to call himself a "big deal" on here because he was a "big deal" on another forum. Honestly, who the hell does that?
BluesChick 1,260
Alright boys, if you're done with your pissing contest can we get back on topic??My thoughts are that Essien or Ballack as 3rd Captain. Although when they were in Dallas, Carvalho was captain even though Essien was on the pitch. I don't think that Joe Cole has shown enough leadership characteristics to lead the team but let's see how he is now that he is healthy. I have my doubts about Drogba because of his outbursts on several occasions and the following censures by the FA. He has not shown that he has the right tempermant to be captain. Our captain needs to be our leader and our anchor, not shooting his mouth off at the refs and the fans.Just my humble opinion... feel free to rip it apart... LOL I am not going to get offended! BlueLion. 21,491
Great post. Especially the first line But I agree with you, I don't think Joe Cole is vocal enough to be the third captain of the team. I think another good candidate would be Ashley Cole, however, he wore the armband against QPR in 07/08.
