Exactly. It would be an historic achievement. We already hold a few of these records thanks to our inconsistency in the league. We are obv the only club to win EL and CL and did so twice, a record that won’t be broken in a long time. We are one of a very exclusive club to win the current uefa quadruple. The quintuple would really cement our place in history books as it will be quite unlikely to be repeated anytime soon.

The ironic thing that stopped Juve from being the only truly 'win it all' club (IF they, and this is a big if, they also win the Conference league and then, far harder, the FIFA World Club Cup, especially now with the new format) is that they lost those two Inter-Citeies Cup finals

they have a real mixed bag in finals (especially the EC/CL where they are a horrid 2 wins 7 losses) in multiple competitions

European Cup finals: 1 win (1985) 2 losses (1973, 1983)

CL finals 1 win (1996) 5 losses (1997, 1998, 2003, 2015, 2017)

Intercontinental Cup finals (decent in this)  2 wins  (1985, 1996) 1 loss (1973)

UEFA Intertoto Cup finals 1 win (1999) no losses ( in the old format there were 3 co-champions, Juve shared it with West Ham and Montpellier)

Inter-Cities Fairs Cup finals no wins, 2 losses (1965, 1971)

Europa League finals (they have been good in this)  3 wins (1977, 1990, 1993) 1 loss (1995)

UEFA Cup Winners' Cup finals 1 win (1984) no losses

UEFA Supercup finals  2 wins (1984, 1996) no losses

Coppa Italia finals (good in this) 15 wins 7 losses

Supercoppa Italiana finals 9 wins 8 losses

FIFA World Club Championship no wins, no losses, they never made it (they do get a shot in 2025 with the new format, but it will be wicked hard)

total finals record

35 wins 26 losses

the worst thing is the biggest trophy (EC/CL) finals record

that 2 wins but 7 losses is painful

the worst teams in EC/CL finals:

the only teams with losing records who have played in 2 or more finals (Inter Milan has 3 wins, 3 losses, Bayern has 6 wins 5 losses, Manure 3 wins 2 losses, but should be reversed, fucking Moscow 2008, which also kept us from have the best undegeated record at 3 wins no losses, Forest and Porto are the only teams with more than 1 win and no losses, with 2 wins each)

Btw Disasi made great pass for Neto goal. Didn't know he has that in his locker.

gotta be honest

Badi atm is by far our worst CB

worse than Disasi, who in fairness is so not an overall effective fullback atm, yet is forced to play there a lot

Badi has completely lost the plot

far off his initial form

no clue why

another observation

Tosin is far better as a RCB than as the middle CB (where he was last night in our shuffle defence)

it is up to Maresca to try and make those 3 players work out as best he can

the only 3 CBs on the planet who are at a proven, multiyear super level AND who are at an even 10, 20 per cent chance of being available:

Ronald Araujo
Alessandro Bastoni
Bremer

are very likely pipe dreams for us, and likely for almsot all other clubs (Bremer would be the easiest pull and even then, he will be hard AF to prise away)

so it will be up to scouts to find the next best options (2, one to replace Disasi, and the other to replace Badi)

Bremer is no longer available, just did his ACL against Leipzig.

Good win, some good showing on display and the football was neat and crisp for the most of it.

I know it is the so called second string but the basics of that back four at defending was worrying. If we can tighten up things we are a force again

Not sure what happened to Badiashile, he used to be serviceable at CB.   Seems like he needs a fresh start elsewhere as the defending on their 2nd goal was a schoolboy error and absolutely horrifying to watch.

If we can clean up the defensive side of the game, we actually have a shot at top 4 this season (in the Premier League).

Gonna concede chances with this approach but going at it with B rate defenders littered in our back 4 is going to make it even more difficult to properly progress. B team or not. Midfield still leaves huge gaps at times too although maybe the managers philosophy but this was same under Potter, Lampard & Poch too so probably more personnel.

Gent aren’t much of a team to use as a barometer yet we still conceded 2.

When the goals dry up, are we gonna keep clean sheets playing this way and with this personnel? We all know these attacking players aren’t consistent enough to deliver over the course of a full season so this will also determine our position/progress.

Yeah.. They are second string but we are two injuries away(which is likely with both Fofana and Colwill) to watch these guys team up against Liverpool or Arsenal  😮

I think Adarabioyo is ok, he is the type of CB who can look good when playing in a working DEF with a great CB pair. But Badiashile must have smoked the same shit what Mount had been, completely lost the plot and fight for his life, never comfortable.

Top 4 and winning of this tournaments this season are must after the whole  money so no excuses .

But caring to win the still new token competition is embarrassing. Sincerely. I don’t think it’s wise to attach selves to this very low level where celebrating such pathetic “triumphs” bring parades. Is going to be mocked and rightfully so. Should be playing a 3rd team. Genuinely we r embarrassing selves

I don't care winning is winning they spending crazy money ,they are in 3th season of their regim so no more exsusess if they cannot bring success they should to sack themselves even top 4 and Conference League is not what should be after  billion spend . The standarts  are high and no more excusses . With Roman  in the first three seasons we won two titles, that should be the level .

If our goal is to qualify for CL and win one trophy I think we Chelsea fans can have very relaxing season.

Considering rivals in Conference League it would be miracle not to win it.

About CL people still say top4 but it is top5 really. Last season was that one season when English teams failed but it happens like one in ten times not to be top2 leagues. Cannot see any team after City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Villa finishing over us.

But let's try to be more ambitious. Maybe top3 and 2 trophies?

CWC is big thing as well.
