He was incredible in his coaching ability. I was more of the manager and dealing with players and everything, "His detail, how he approaches the day-to-day, he's as good as I've worked with." "So I learned a lot from him from that point of view and then I think he's done a great job as a whole. "He's also got a side which you don't want to cross him as well. "That's important as well. If he goes [to Chelsea], he won't disappoint. He's been waiting for an opportunity like this."

Lets be honest, young English managers aren't given opportunities like the Chelsea job very often so regardless of if its Wayne Rooney (ok he worked with him) or whoever, there is gonna be a positive write up. Look at all the positive PR re Potter when he got the job here. Great coach, tactically good & whatever else mumbo jumbo they could add. Mhsc 1,117 Posted Monday at 10:53 Share Posted Monday at 10:53 Amorim sacked. Would not surprise me if they appoint Maresca and it turns out he engineered this 'sacking' to be able to join without any negotiation or fee club to club. There is a lot of nonsense from the BlueCo PR machine regarding Maresca to save face, wouldn’t take it all as gospel. Same with Poch. Same with Tuchel. I mean who do you think is putting that out to the media? If Maresca called out our mob & walked away from £14m compensation because he was that mad, do you think he’s gonna work under Wilcox & Vivell, who have effectively spat the dummy at Amorin after he said they need to do their jobs 😂? Strange as they were all behind him last season when they sat 15/16/17th in the table now he has them 6th, they sack him? After he says he expected to be Man Utd’s manager, not head coach & told them they need to do their jobs? Lot of fragile egos at both clubs, anyone with sense will avoid them. That's the thing though, walking away from a nice compensation package does not make sense unless this is a preplanned move for him to walk into a cushty well paid job with a nice sign on bonus. I assume the compensation is as part of a mutual contract where he's locked in to not take another job without that team negotiation a fee with us. The fact he refused to do the deal suggests that he is either super angry and a moron financially, OR more likely imo based on what we've seen (appointing Mendes as his agent, negotiating with every club he can while employed with us, trying to use it as leverage for a pay rise etc) he is actually very savvy and very calculated (important traits in a manager surely). Guess we'll find out soon enough.

But if he has choice of going to United now or City at the end of the season if Pep were to leave (seems more logical given the BlueCo PR revelations about how they basically used information he was legally obliged to inform them of as a cross to nail him to when he walked as they felt “disrespected”) do you think he’d be so daft to go to United? Glasner looks like the top favourite at the moment.

mkh 664 Posted Monday at 22:53 Share Posted Monday at 22:53 (edited) 🗯We always complain about our board and directors, but our rivals have almost all the same problem!! 🔴After a meeting between Amorim and Jason Wilcox, the director of football, it became clear to the club's hierarchy that the relationship was unsustainable. 💥The power of the sporting directors at the big clubs in England is intense! Thor 2,788 Posted yesterday at 00:51 Share Posted yesterday at 00:51 I don't particularly care who the manager is. Kompany got the job at Bayern after doing nothing. Now they look great. If new mate can make us fun to watch and win games we should be winning then I am all for it. We've forgotten how to be flat track bullies and only show up for the big games. Might win some cups that way but you'll never win a league.

Ratcliffe was all over the idea of Southgate being the manager prior to his deal. I guess after what happened with Amorim, anyone with some sense and relatively experienced would wait till the summer.

Imagine if you are one of the star players at City and you go from Pep to Maresca in a season, I reckon one or two of them would be calling their agents to ask for a transfer. I wouldn't be shocked to see City reach out to Kompany (post Pep), that would be interesting to see after his time at Bayern.
