TacticalBlues 2,817
Though we looked to have missed out on Aguero next season can still be great if we play our youngsters. Cech/ TurnballIvanovic (27) - Terry (30) - Luiz (24) - Cole (30)/Van Aanholt (20) / Bertrand (21) Oriol Romeu (19)/Ramires(24) Mceachran (18) - Pastore (22)/ Piazon (17) /Lampard (33)Sturridge (21) - Torres(27) /Drogba (33) - Kakuta (20)As well as Benayoun (31), Anelka (32), Bosingwa (28), Kalou (25), Malouda (31) Alex (29), Chalobah (17) Courtois(19 loan)We have seriously missed out on a gem, but let's hope our squad and youths can step up an fulfill their potential. Lukaku is still available but apart from that I can't think of another striker available that was as good/better than Aguero. Neymar is off the market and radar for another year at least too, mabye we can still bargain for De Bruyne though. If Kakuta was at another club playing day in day out we would've been begging for Abramovich too snap him up too. He should really be given more chances. When we get Piazon in January we should give him a few shots, and if our players perform to their maximum or close too it we will have a squad to compete for everything even without Aguero. Still... seeing him play in any shirt apart from the Chelsea one makes me fume.

Slam Dunk 1,442
Frankly i'm glad we're not going to pay any new signings £200,000+ a week. Ridiculous money.
eldo 868
Well at least Mancini is giving me a bit of hope. He is incompetent to fully use that squad. With his defensive game...

Kakuta is fast, skillful and let's face it can give us a dimension that Malouda just hasn't for a while. If we can't get a winger this year, or even if we can, why shouldn't we give him a chance. I'm not talking a petty Mark Hughes chance but a proper one where he can hopefully step up and prove himself. If Modric and Pastore don't join we can't just play the same game as last year, yes we have a different tactician but the base is the same so I'm hoping we can test and try Piazon and Romeu on occasions. Kojo 4,676
Mancini is a victim, he canot handle such a squad... He just limits the damageSturridge by example, I do agree... Anelka is able to help the team, once more he has played too much games for 3 yearsThe games where he was static were due to a lack of energy not helped by the lack of turnover from Carlo. I'm pretty happy with his wing performances since Villas Boas was appointed, he acts more as a winger, he is more rigorousThe thing is, there's only one match where i have ever been pleased with Anelka, and that was the Sunderland match when we won 4-2, becaues he just went on and on and on and caused Sunderland massaive ammounts of problems. Anelka takes to long to make a pass, he ruins the flow of our game, the amount of times he has ruined counter attacking is unbelievable, Anelka can finish but doesn't seem to get into that position, which is kind of right because he plays deep, i wouldn't expect him to score outside the box because Anelka is always finesse over power. He could still add something to the team i see were your coming from, but he does ruin a lot in the squad, and i reckon we could do without him in my opinion, mainly to give others a chance, and stop him from moaning and having a player on the bench all the time. Guest justin_3d
I think if Carlo was still in the team, he would have gone for this player. But oh well, let's hope for our sake that the strikers we got can do good this season.

Me too, I do not hide to you that he has sometimes irritated me when he broke the rythm, but we cannot say he isn't able to bring quality to the team anymore. He has never been my favorite player, but it would be disrespectful to say that he is just a wanker and he is over whereas his contributions in the past was huge (we would have been in massive trouble without him the last seasons) and that he can still provide quality in the futureIt seems to be his last year at Chelsea, Sturridge proved he could take over gradually. Anelka's importance is gonna be declining, but it won't stop overnight
