Ahmm.. Yeah we will sign a striker in January I'm 90% sure and how its looking right now it will be Aguero and the reason why we would buy him is that the transfer ban could not be over turned and we could be stuck with not buying anyone in 2 transfer periods. The second reason is of course the African Cup, Ancelotti doesn't think Sturdige can handle the job just yet and wants another forward in.

:goodpost: u right we shouldn't plaining transfers looking only on January fixture. We have to think about future becasue im sure Fifa re-suspend us after this window. Our players don't get younger. i always like Kalou but i think he's not good enough replacement for our strikers.

As wonderfully talented as Aguero is and as much as I would like to see him in a Chelsea shirt, perhaps now is not the right time to sign him, he will be cup tied for the Champions league, we only have to do without Drogba and Kalou for a few games and we have Di Santo returning with some experience under his belt. lets not forget the promise shown by Borini, Sturridge and Kakuta, im pretty sure Carlo will use his youngsters or use a different formation, as fo rthe transfer ban, since the ban was issued Chelsea have seemed very confident that it will be overturned so I cant see us making any signings really unless we sign youngsters like Alan Dzagoev

Dzagoev is a phenomenal player and would be an amazing pick up for Chelsea.

But seriously, do we need any new players? Look at our squad and the quality we have across the board.... yes our STARTERS are getting old, but look at our reserves and youth players... Ross Turnbull, Daniel Sturridge, Nemanja Matic, Gael Kakuta, Michael Mancienne, Scott Sinclair, Fabio Borini, Miroslav Stoch, Franco Di Santo, Slobodan Rajkovic, etc

I'd say we just need to give a few youngsters some chances, and if we do pick any new players up go for the guys who don't expect to start... young players who are looking to learn the game and that can develop into starting players over a little time.

Off the top of my head I can think of quite a few youngsters I'd love to see in the blue uniform... Cesar Villaluz (is sick!), Dan Gosling, Pablo Piatti, Eden Hazard, Franco Zucullini, Fabian Delph, the list of promising youngsters goes on and on.

And I digress...

I agree, we have tremendous depth, and highly talented youth players that even Arsenal might be a bit jealous of. I just think that if we are going to sign anyone in Jan it should be future stars and not "Marquee" players, if we really do need a more experienced striker then perhaps a loan deal would be a better option?

  • 3 weeks later...

Chelsea are closing in on a British record £40million deal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero.

In the last few days, Chelsea have met representatives of IMG, Aguero’s agents, to

discuss a deal that would eclipse the £32.5m Manchester City paid for Robinho in August 2008.

Senior Chelsea club officials were involved in the discussions and sufficient progress has been made in the last two weeks for all parties to be confident that the deal will be

wrapped up soon.

How is he wasted at Atletico?

Anyways, I've been a huge huge fan of this guy for over an year, what a feeling it would be to see him in a Chelsea shirt (would make my Atleti Aguero shirt useless though  )

Because there a shambles of a club, There midfield seems to get walked over every game and there defence isn't too great either.

Oh and he won't win anything there.

This football blog on the transfer window mentions the rumoured bid for Aguero but in the same breath quotes Carlo saying he doesn't want to sign anyone. I personally would love it (Kevin Keeganesue that!) if we signed Aquero, he is pure class, and his signing would give everyone a boost. Plus don't forget we may not be able to sign anyone in future wondoes if that ban gets upheld so we need to make the most of things now.

SERGIO AGUERO reckons he was born to be a Blue.

The Atletico Madrid and Argentina striker expects to complete a £32million move to Chelsea in next month's transfer window.

And if he plays the game anything like the way he talks it, he will be a smash hit at Stamford Bridge.

Aguero has spoken for the first time about joining the Premier League leaders and insisted that he will quickly settle into English football.

Why? Because Chelsea's style is perfect for the all-action Argentina forward and he cannot wait to play with 'the best players in the world'.

He revealed: "Chelsea are interested in me because they think I can play an important role for the team.

"And I think I fit with their style of play.

"Of course I watch the Premier League on TV and I think it is the best league in the world, along with the Spanish league."
