If Estevao and Paez are both THAT good, then why are we signing a RW in Olise this summer? Can easily continue with Palmer and Noni

There have been top players who’ve been chucked straight in - Fabregas, Bellingham, Pedri etc but since both Estevao and Paez are coming over to Europe for the first time it’s only fair they’re integrated over a couple of years

Vesper 30,805
Midfield wonderkid wants Chelsea move “soon”, reveals teammate https://www.caughtoffside.com/2024/10/13/kendry-paez-Chelsea-transfer-estevao-willian/ Incoming Chelsea winger Estevao Willian has spoken out on his future teammate Kendry Paez and how keen he is to make the move to Stamford Bridge. Both Estevao and Paez will be Chelsea teammates from next season, with deals already in place for them to join the Blues, and Estevao says he’s spoken to Paez about their future together in the Premier League. Speaking in an interview with Placar, the Palmeiras and Brazil youngster spoke about a variety of topics ahead of making the move to Chelsea next summer, and one of those was the arrival of Paez at the same time, and whether or not they’ll be able to play together in the same line up. Chelsea have made a habit of signing some of the best young players in the world under the ownership of Todd Boehly Behdad Eghbali, and fans will no doubt be excited about Estevao and Paez in particular. It seems the Ecuador international is already itching to get going, judging by what Estevao has said after talking with him recently. Estevao Willian reveals Kendry Paez is eager for Chelsea transfer “When we faced each other in the Libertadores, he had already been negotiated and I was working out the details. But, in this last game for the national team (in September), I met him in Ecuador and we had already made arrangements,” Estevao said. “We talked a lot there. We talked about English, adaptations that will be difficult, but I think we have everything to make it work and it will be a great experience,” he said. “He came over and asked me how I was feeling. He also said that it was really hard and boring to study English, but that he was learning too. He said he wanted to go there soon, he wanted to have that European experience. I said we’d be there soon. “I think we can play together. Even though he plays more centrally today and I play more on the wing, I definitely think we can play together and it will be a good, healthy rivalry.” Edited October 13, 2024 by Vesper

Vesper 30,805
the clown car crash continues at every level of the club: Kendry Paez: Chelsea get fresh blow as highly-rated loan star suffers 'serious' injury Liam Rosenior is known to be a big fan of the young Ecuadorian https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/kendry-paez-injury-latest-Chelsea-fc-river-plate-b1272118.html Chelsea have been dealt a fresh injury headache as highly-rated loanee Kendry Paez suffered a serious shoulder injury while playing for River Plate. The 18-year-old Ecuador international joined River on loan late in the January transfer window after being recalled from a stint at Strasbourg, but is already facing a stint on the sidelines having made just two appearances for the legendary Argentine outfit. He came on at half-time as River lost to Velez Sarsfield on Sunday, but lasted just 25 minutes before coming off. River were trailing 1-0 at the break after an early opener from ex-West Ham star Manuel Lanzini, and Paez went close to scoring an equaliser, drawing a smart save from the Sarsfield ‘keeper eight minutes after coming on. But that was the extent of his involvement, as he came off after landing awkwardly following an aerial duel with Claudio Baeza. He immediately signalled to the bench that he was in pain and attempted to play on after receiving treatment, but was ultimately replaced. Paez was pictured post-match with his left arm in a bulky, padded sling, with an ice pack also strapped to his shoulder. The extent of his injury has not yet been confirmed, though he will hope to recover in time to represent Ecuador at this summer’s World Cup. Paez numbers among the various young talents to have come through the door at Chelsea since BlueCo’s takeover, but he is yet to live up to his billing. Chelsea pipped the likes of Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund to the youngster’s signature and his move was made official ahead of last summer’s Club World Cup. He joined up and trained with the Blues squad in the United States, but did not make an appearance at the tournament. He began this season on loan at Strasbourg, making 22 appearances for the Alsace club, then managed by Liam Rosenior, before being reassigned to crisis-stricken River, who have slumped to tenth place in the Argentine Primera Division. Paez will return to Chelsea when his loan spell expires upon the completion of the Argentine domestic campaign in December.
