They will still qualify for the Conference league if PSG win the cup. A dire performance tonight (could have easily lost been 5 goals). Petrovic didn't cover himself in glory either.

Actually, we could have just stick with Kepa.. He is not great but all the experiencing with Sanchez, Slonina, Jörgensen etc.. didn't quite took us any further. Mendy also, not really feel he was better than Kepa, only had a few good games.

We keep banging on about a number 9 but this keeper position is every bit as important, if we don't address that we get what we deserve next season

Yep every GK we have needs to go. Penders excluded maybe but still not sure what happens with him in 2-3 years. Baffles me that probably, our best GK was on loan at Bournemouth, whilst we suffered Sanchez and Jorgensen - whilst Maresca blew smoke up Sanchez’s arse for months and months when he was playing shite.

Its more important IMO

You have to be a sensational, almost generationally good attacking team to get away with having poor GK/CB at this level. Adding just 1 striker will not turn us into that team, as in truth our wingers are hardly sensational either. We can however become a normal, slightly underwhelming not truly elite but consistently in the mix top side by sorting out GK/CB and just being bloody hard to beat. If we add that to this squad with this age profile we are a consistent CL side for a decade or so at least.

Even Liverpool with VVD needed a top top GK and could argue they were one of those top top attacking teams with Salah, Mane, Firminio. Won nothing without Alisson.

I feel like people really underestimate how much of an impact a WC GK can have. Hell, we'd have a CL placed wrapped up if Thibo or Cech were in goal.

They make the difference. Liverpool lost the 2018 final because of Karius & RM beat the same opposition in the 22 final largely because of Thibo's MOTM display.

Precisely.

Even Tibo when he came in and replaced Petr after being on loan in Spain back in 2014, he made a hell of a difference to us. And Petr was still at a pretty good level then too.

Whatever happened and resulted in us ending up in a position where Courtois wouldn’t renew and wanted out was one of the biggest transfer blows we’ve had in recent history IMO. As you mentioned, his performances at Madrid, he has been the difference for them in several big big games.
