You think it's normal for our managerial situation to be like this when half the squad is reporting back in to Cobham soon? 9 more days then. Ok, I cancel my booking. Belgiannutt 3,201
He's not Sarri's agent. Alessandro Pellegrini is. https://www.transfermarkt.com/alessandro-pellegrini/beraterfirma/berater/4510 Giuseppe Accardi is an agent so maybe he has some information. We'll see. Starman60 1,343
Latest shit for the Daily Mail states "Chelsea have reached a Gentleman's agreement with Napoli over Sarri" so it'll probably happen on Monday.........................or Thursday.................Or Tuesday........................or Friday next week..............or the week after.................or the week after that xPetrCechx and Laylabelle
Laylabelle 9,534
Wouldn't surprise me.. Start of the season.. Still rumours.. It'll be next week..Next month.. Least the world cup is a bit of a distraction. As for the transfer window we've been crap when we've had a manager at getting deals done so be no change there at being slow. Just less time

Dimitr 488
Transfer Window Podcast guest Ian McGarry says Conte will be put out of his misery next week: "Conte hasn't even been paid off yet, which is the reason the appointment of a new coach has been held up. I'm told that will be resolved this week - allowing Sarri to be appointed."

I'm pretty sure everything has already been completed with both Sarri and Napoli, and Chelsea are just trying to negotiate the best possible deal with Conte for the club. That is why I think it is taking so long because the club know it's all in the bag and they're just exploring any opportunities to save some extra money before pulling the trigger. If it leaked from Sarri or Napoli that it was done or even Chelsea had been negotiating then Conte could potentially have a case for constructive dismissal which may mean a higher level of compensation. This is also why I believe ADL keeps playing up to the media that Chelsea haven't approached him for Sarri. I am speculating like everyone else, but it seems like the logical reasoning at this point in time. RoyalBlues and Tomo

Unionjack 7,531
Could be worth keeping Conte on as his adviser/translator lol Well he speaks better English than Sarri. Might be a good match up. And seeing as we are paying him off anyway we might as well get our moneys worth. Johnnyeye

I think he has been treated deplorably i know Conte may have his flaws, but he deserves a hell lot of credit from the club for what he did, turning the club into Champions when no one believed it would be possible after we finished 10th the previous season. He deserved more respect from the club, and they failed to back him properly last summer, altough Conte didnt do himself any favours with the constant comments to the press about the lack of quality and transfers, and he lost that big energy on the sidelines, which was his big feature, that negative mindset unfortunately reached to the players minds who eventually turned their backs on the manager, they deserve as much blame as Conte, many times showed lack of desire, respect and commitment to the club, the damage was beyond repair at that point, and it resulted in a 5th place finish in the league. Everyone deserves a big slap on the face, starting with the inconpetent board, it must be said. Jan and Feb was an awful time for us. And how the club reacted in general - supporters included, is sad. But I think he changed the look of English football. Maybe not the first to use the formation but the one remembered to make it work as well as we did Just loved watching us that year. petre.ispirescu 4,928
I think even for the most pessimistic one, this new manager situation looks sorted out with Sarri ready to be appointed as soon as Conte's situation gets resolved. At least it looks like that for me. Can't blame Conte though for holding on to his money - He's won two major trophies in his two year spell here and frankly what's next for him other than a sabbatical for one year? All the big clubs have pretty much sorted out their managerial spots for the new season. AC Milan the only club I can see making a move for him, but would he go there? I don't know... So a sabbatical for one year looks on the cards for him. Won't make it easy for the Chelsea board, he will surely hold on for his money. RoyalBlues 4,050
Well, the 'AVB treatment' might still works though. Win-win for everyone. Unless Conte being a stubborn and only want a whole pay at once. Board certainly don't like that idea, hence for the delay.
