The Next Manager?

From a Napoli fan on another Chelsea forum :

"he's not gonna reply exactly the same game as we were used in naples, he's not that stupid :D He changes with what he has. His original tacts was 4231, as he was playing in empoli. when he came in naples he tried that formation for a couple of game and he switched to a 433 because was more balaced and solid.

Left or right doesn't matter, we were building the game on the left cause insigne and ghoulam are better in playmaking and have more pushing attitude, while on the right side hisay is more defensive, giving the change to callejon to appear from nowere and collect the insigne pass from the other side.

He mostly plays with a very high defensive line, with the two central defenders able to play the ball in case of pressing, spanish triangulations with the playmaker that in our case was jorginho, a man the always plays with one touch.

Anyway it depends if he wonna continue with a 433 or get back to the 4231."

Gotta say a 4-2-3-1 would look quite tasty. Buy Seri and Leon Bailey. Swap Wilian with Martial. Only position i'd still have some doubts would be the striker but i don't think we're gonna sell Morata after 1 year and signing an expensive striker while we still have Morata seems unlikely.

I guess the question is:  "How much will it cost for him to resign after next week?"

I dont think that is possible? It sounds crazy but why wouldnt he do that if he could? Maybe he cant sign for another club if he resigns until when his former contract would have expired?

Maybe he can, and that's what the delay is?  I have no idea.  We know about his clause, with a deadline.  But no one had said anything about after the deadline.  If the clause is removed, then what happens?

DeLaurentis:  His clause is 8M

Us:  He's going to just resign next week and you get nothing.  I'd look at getting a replacement in, if I were you.

ADL:  If you fuck us like that, we're going to inflate the price of anyone you want to buy

Us:  You already do that

ADL:  Right.  Well, it's about to get worse and we'll sell players like Jorginho to your rivals for less than what the current market is really saying

Us:  Isn't that already happening?

ADL:  Maybe we can work something out...

The details of the post deadline termination seem sketchy.

Nah i dont think that would be right. Has to be some sort of legal issue if ADL tries to stop him going to work elsewhere; if Sarri resigns off his own accord. I'd say it's more a case of him being unable to resign while the clause is active, otherwise Napoli could kick up a fuss that he has purposely stopped them getting their potential 8m euros.  Which obviously is why ADL has not fired him, officially.  He wants his cash

If we dont agree something by Thursday, then ADL can request whatever amount he wishes, and if we won't pay it, its tough shit.  That is when I could maybe see Sarri resign or get fired.

From the link @Sideshow Luiz posted:

"The release clause expires May 31. At that point, Sarri can resign, and leave ADL with nothing. It’s unclear if Sarri himself (or Chelsea, by proxy) would have to pay a penalty or simply just forgo any compensation (which, if he takes another job, would be academic anyway). It’s also unclear if Sarri can even “just resign”, as previous reports made it clear the Napoli would have to “accept” the resignation."

Looks like a proper wasps nest this clause :D

Would be interesting to see what Sarri did with Eden. Like the idea of perhaps having him more centrally but we need the right players to do so.

If we take Sarri’s current system:

Reina

Hysaj Albiol Koulibaly Ghoulam

Jorginho

Allan Hamsik

Callejon Mertens/Milik Insigne

vs.

Courtois

Azpilicueta Christensen Rüdiger Emerson

Diawara

Kanté Hazard

Bailey Icardi Martial

Something like this would be mega interesting. Champagne football with a real shot at the title.

Hazard in midfield would leave us quite unbalanced I would say. Let me propose this

Courtois

Azpi-Christensen-Rudiger-Emerson

Kante-Diawara/Meyer/Jorginho-Barkley

Fekir-Icardi-Hazard

What I don't get is why are people thinking that Sarri would play exactly the same formation at Chelsea as he was at Napoli? Any great manager plays formation that suits the players he has. Exactly what Conte done last season, one of the best "tailoring" I have ever seen.

"He played Mertens as CF so he will play Hazard as CF and whole team would press like mad". Yes, and I am Moses. Peak of this team was last season. And even if we still had Costa and Matić that wouldn't be anything close to match City, or even United.

If we bring Sarri and keep the same shit transfer policy, we have done nothing.

4-3-3 is optimal for possession so it is fair assumption that this is what Sarri would do.

I disagree with your point about Conte, Conte at first attempted to change his tactics to fit the Chelsea team. During the Arsenal game, he want with what he knows best and that is what changed our season.

He obviously found players that greatly benefited from the change.
