You see, 2 seasons ago it was a blip...and we had the players that can do way better than finish 10th...in fact if we don't count the Mourinho games that season, we would have finished 4th.

This is wrong. Mourinho was sacked on December17th, here is what the top 10 would look like from the 22 games played after Mourinho's sacking.

1.Leicester City 13-7-2=46 pts

2. Tottenham 13-5-4=44 pts

3. Southampton 13-3-6=42pts

4.Arsenal 10-8-4=38pts

5. West Ham10-8-4=38pts

6.Man United 11-4-7=37pts

7.Liverpool 10-6-6=36pts

8.Chelsea 8-11-4=35pts

9.Man City 9-7-6=34pts

10.Swansea 9-6-7=33 pts

It seems as if there are quite a few people on this forum who believe that when Mourinho was sacked we started playing well.Chelsea were  justshit that season. Not just when Mourinho was here, but well after. There is no way around it.

We may not have been great under Hiddink, but we were 100 times better than beforehand under Mou. Furthermore we were actually 2nd in that particular table until about April when we headed to the Beach.

To be fair, it's not hard to play better when you're playing relegation level football.

I'm pretty sure both Tottenham and Leicester were both ahead of us during that period. In addition, counting points from Mourinho's sacking until April is arbitrary. If you evaluate Chelsea over any meaningful period of that season, you would conclude that we were shit.

Here is the table from December 14th Until April. Chelsea played 14 games during that period so I only counted the point total that other clubs had over 14 games, even though some played 15 games and most of them won the fixture I excluded.

1.Tottenham 31 pts

2. Leicester 28 pts

3. Chelsea 26 pts gd 11

4. West Ham 26 pts gd 8

5. Southampton 23 pts

6. Arsenal 22 pts

7. Liverpool 21 pts

8. Man United 21 pts

9. Stoke 20 pts

10. Man City 19 pts

This is the table from your arbitrary period. While better than where we finished, we're not far off of mid table football(not too far off first either). Only goal difference separated us from West Ham, and only 5 points ahead of 7th. This is not good football. If you consider how most of our rivals were having shit seasons too, you get a much different picture than what you would suggest. The average point total for the 4th place team in the last 10 seasons is ~72 points. If you take our point average from the 14 games and calculate how many would have gained from 38 games we would be at ~71 points. Personally, I don't believe this type of extrapolation is valid, but even if you do extrapolate, you still can not even say Chelsea played at a top 4 level. There is no way around it. Chelsea were shit if you try and evaluate them in any meaningful/useful way.

I understand the fans wanting Jody Morris, but he isn't ready. I know he is cleaning house with the academy, but thats a totally different ball game.  Needs to learn the trade lower down first, just the way it is.

Next manager will be Enrique or Sarri IMO.  Almost nailed on one of those 2.  Rui Faria would be a shock, but when i read the report and seen 'according to Don Balon...' i knew it was BS

Surely that has to be a joke. Not saying Faria won't make it as a manager because I think hes clearly an astute guy and has good footballing experience as an assistant but he worked with AVB years ago, would have seen the club chew him up and spit him out 9 months into a 3 year deal, there is not a chance hes coming here as a manager looking for his first job.

Dont understand the Jody Morris in for the FA Cup final shit either. Conte is going anyway I'd be surprised if he probably hasnt already offered to resign or knows his fate, so why sack him when he has one more game to play, a cup final in which he guided the team to?

If Roman continues with his 'Win the league or fuck off' policy we will get a continual managerial revolving door.

I hate to say it but we need a Klopp or Poch who are building a team bit by bit, Something they want to last and hopefully look ok doing it. Yes they fuck up and yes they rely alot on 1 player far too much but the idea is there.

Ive not got a Scooby who will be our manager next season but I just hope the whole club, board, manager, players, supporters have a better attitude, confidence, trust and faith than 2 of the last 3 seasons.

🔔 According to @Carloalvino, Ancelotti joining Napoli is confirmed, and it's beyond contradiction. He'll sign a Two-Year contract with an option for another year. The Coach likes Napoli's current squad, and at most, two players will be sold this summer. (@CalcioNapoli24)

So Sarri + Jorginho + another Napoli player to Chelsea? :)

We're not getting Jorginho.  I can't see us being that pro-active.  I think they are going to sell Jorginho and Koulibaly this summer.  They already have replacements for both.

It is not so much about us being pro-active as these are Sarri-players. They have expressed their love of playing for him, and he has made them integral and valuable players. If(big if) we do hire Sarri as our manager id expect Jorginho & Koulibaly, at the very least Jorginho. Sarri would insist on it and I think Napoli believe Jorginho won't be the same player under someone else. They will collect large sums for either player, and we might be happy to pay for both.

I think I've been hearing that Allegri to Arsenal is almost locked down.

Allegri to Arsenal and Sarri/Jardim to Chelsea are actually the perfect appointments for both clubs at this moment in time.

We need a direction change. If we can't/won't compete with the very big boys financially we need a manager who believes in hard work on the training ground and has a philosophy in place to Bridge the gap in the medium to long term, it can be done, as we have seen at Liverpool and Spurs (they may not have won nothing yet, but to be consistently in the CL and so competitive in big games with their outlay is good going).

We have two big advantages over them, especially Spurs. An excellent academy/loan structure to tap into and a winning mentality running through the club from top to bottom.

Arsenal on the other hand after years of Wenger's naive ultra attacking tactics, the pragmatism and tactical acumen that Allegri offers is exactly what they need to set them up on the road to recovery, it can't be underestimated the damage Wenger's done trying to cling on.

Imagine leaving Napoli for Chelsea...And I'm talking about both manager and players. The fucking mess we are in, the wankers behind the scenes and the constant upheaval.

If he’s going to leave for Chelsea it’s only because ADL can’t or won’t bring in for him 1-2 top players he wants to add and obviously can’t promise to keep all the best ones.

Sarri wants to fight Juventus and is aware if there’s no big players there’s no titles too. There’s the problem between Sarri and ADL. They have a dinner on Thursday  night. All depends on ADL now because Sarri expresses his will to stay if ADL is going to back him on the market.

I just feel that Joginho is going to City.  I see him being a Fernandinho replacement, in the longer term.  In the shorter term, for all of City's depth, Fernandinho doesn't actually have a like for like replacement.

Dont know. Allegri came out and said he wont leave Juventus unless they fire him. Don't think he'd say something only to go. I doubt they'd fire him either. Theyve repeatedly said they want him to stay as well and now hes came out and said that I think its more than likely. I think Arsenal will go another way and appoint a young manager with little experience and let him try build the club up.
