According to Daily Mail, Monaco are preparing to offer £25m(£25m for a 29 y/o!) for Ivanovic but Mourinho wants to keep him...

Ivanovic won't leave Chelsea....especially for a team that can't offer UCL football.

Let's be honest here for a second, Iva is what? 29 now? The peak of career is behind him, so to get 25m for him would be great business and he will probably be getting twice as much in wages. It's a win-win situation for both parties. I would take Monaco's offer.

Especially since we've finally found a long-term solution to the RB position in Azpi and could easily find CB cover or a first choice starter to play alongside Luiz

Exactly. 25m would get you one of the best young CBs in Europe.

For me he's still 3rd choice CB and 2nd choice RB so I'd bite their hands off Suarez-style if that offer was even close to being true (£17 million would probably be good enough in all honesty).

Whatever happens we still need to sign a centre-back this summer and it would be tempting to take that £25 million and put in an offer for Varane straight away.
