Chelsea Transfers

Big moves only in summer.

There is a debate to make.
This year is lost.
Don't waste your time thinking about 4th place.

I would start by hiring a coach for next summer.
A coach!
And for the future.
For a serious project.

Ten Hag or Nagelsmann would be my bets.
And serious investment would be made for this project.

This year be pragmatic.
Let's not dream about what is not possible

I fear the worst.
That none of this will be done.
You will burn all the money stupidly.
Lampard will be out late and badly.

We will eventually knock on Marco Silva's door.

How many top players will want to come when they see shit show after shit show?

Kante left champions to play for us and we finished previous season 10th.

About Isco, I don't know what he is thinking with his career. He won't have a place in Real very soon even on the bench. Hazard and Asensio are coming back from injuries, James as well. They will buy new midfielder(s)... Basically last chance for him to get a big contract since he's 27. Also he lost his place in national team. Not many clubs can afford him. But if he's happy at Madrid anyway I guess he don't care anymore and we should stay away.

We know how hard is to bring Italians from Seria A. Guys like Romagnoli, Chiesa, Zaniolo probably won't ever leave Italy.

What I'm trying to say is that if this about Isco is true it's very important message to our board...

Now we have young guys born in late 90s or early 00s who grew up supporting Chelsea. Guys like Sancho, Bailey, Pepe, Chilwell guy from Villarreal... So basically now we have a benifit from our super team Roman created. We were one of the best teams in Europe for years from 2004-2014.  (playing I think 7 CL semifinals in this period). Millions of people become Chelsea fans in this period around the world mostly kids. And this is the result. Hottest prospect like Sancho and Chilwell want to play for us. Our board must be stupid to miss this chance. Top names we signed in early Roman days came mostly because of money and we still couldn't buy best players in the world other teams wanted. Totti, Gerrard, Ronaldinho, Pirlo and others all rejected us. Now we have a chance. Signing Sancho would be a biggest statement Chelsea ever made!

According to the rumours he doesn't want to come and is waiting for City in the Summer to play under Pep, hardly surprising.

From Blue Moon forum...

Not exactly ITK but a friend of mine is best mates with one of the lads in youth recruitment at City, he was involved in bringing Sancho up from Watford etc. He is in contact with Sancho quite a lot and basically the word is that he doesn't want to come back to Manchester. He is targeting a move to Chelsea but he has been hearing they will go for Zaha in January which would stop that move as they already have Hudson-Odoi. Plenty could change of course but just a little snippet of info.

@Nicco

What rumours? Did you see this? Not one City fan is optimistic about signing Sancho. And Pep is leaving anyway...

Michy Batshuayi 'will not leave Chelsea in January'

By Matt Law, European Football Editor

Belgium international Michy Batshuayi will reportedly be remaining with Chelsea until at least the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

The 26-year-old has scored seven times in 19 appearances for the Blues during the current season but has struggled to earn starts under new head coach Frank Lampard.

The striker has actually not made the starting XI for a single Premier League match this term, with each of his 12 outings in England's top tier coming from the bench.

According to football.london, despite finding it difficult to force his way into Lampard's selection, Batshuayi will not look to leave Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window.

The report claims that the Belgian will instead stay for the remainder of the season before considering his options during next summer's transfer window. Batshuayi could be forced further down the pecking order next month, though, with Chelsea, having had their transfer ban overturned, expected to enter the market for a new striker.

Ben Chilwell 'will not join Chelsea in January'

By Matt Law, European Football Editor

Chelsea will reportedly be unable to sign Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell during the January transfer window despite identifying the England international as a leading target.

The Blues, having had their FIFA-imposed transfer ban overturned on appeal, have allegedly identified Chilwell as the perfect player to fill their left-back spot moving forward.

Frank Lampard's side were reportedly hopeful of securing a deal at the start of 2020, but according to football.london, their hopes of a January swoop are 'infinitesimal'.

Neither Marcos Alonso nor Emerson Palmieri have convinced on the left side of defence during the 2019-20 campaign, and both players have been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

Chilwell - tipped to be England's left-back at Euro 2020 - has contributed one goal and three assists in 17 appearances for Leicester during the 2019-20 campaign.

I'm not really fussed who we buy at this stage I just hope we don't panic buy with a view to the short term and trying to get top 4 this season. I think the idea of being unable to attract players without Champions League football is a bit of a myth in all honesty. It perhaps applies to the very top tier of players but in the market below this which is where we would likely be shopping, I don't think it holds up nearly as much.

But we are now paying the price for this short term outlook, with both players and coaches, for years putting a band-aid on the squad. It's fully justified with the trophies we have won through those times but it still doesn't change the suffering we have now.

There are some big deficiencies within the squad at present, but I think it's easy to forget a lot of the positives earlier in the season with the younger members of the squad and the attacking swagger we had. A plan does seem to be trying to be implemented but we are very much in its infancy and everything needs time and patience. Ironically I was reading an article on Chelsea's academy recently and it discussed when Abramovich first came into the club the long term plans which were put into place with regards to youth recruitment, development, coaching, etc. It took a fair few years before that machine started to produce the goods at youth level and is only now that the first team is benefiting too. But a plan was laid out and stuck too. We need something similar at first team level. I believe that something is trying to be implemented with a much longer term view, but I just hope that the board and club don't make knee-jerk reactions like they have done historically which may get a reaction for this season but leaves us right back at square one again for next.

If the right players are available in January then go and get them and hopefully they can contribute in both the short term and longer term. However if they're not, I'd rather we don't settle for lower and lesser targets on our list, and instead get through this season and bring the right players in the summer.

I think we should go for Theo Hernandez,he helps his team attack from the left wing and scores much more than the attackers at AC MILAN.Lampard said he wants goalscoring players, then why don't him sign a goalscoring defender like Hernandez? :)
