Exclusive: Arsenal & Chelsea eyeing three same transfer targets, including star who terrorised Liverpool

Arsenal and Chelsea are both in the market for top signings up front, and have fallen upon a very similar list of targets, according to sources’ latest information to CaughtOffside.

The Gunners and the Blues are both very keen on Newcastle United front-man Alexander Isak, who scored a superb goal against Liverpool yesterday and also picked up an assist in a tremendous all-round performance up front.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot dealt HUGE blow after Newcastle clash

Isak is clearly one of the finest centre-forwards in Europe right now, but CaughtOffside understands that Arsenal and Chelsea might both struggle to afford the Sweden international’s high asking price of around €100m or more.

That being the case, both the London giants are also eyeing up some alternatives, while we have also been given information on how Newcastle could reinvest the big money they make from the potential sale of Isak.

Alexander Isak transfer: Arsenal and Chelsea eyeing alternatives, while Newcastle could replace him with another Swedish goal machine

Sources have told CaughtOffside that Newcastle would be ready to try an ambitious move for Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres if they lose Isak.

The Swedish star has been in superb form for Sporting in recent times and has also attracted interest from Manchester United and other top clubs.

Still, Newcastle would be willing to try their luck if they end up with significant money to spend and a need to replace a top talent like Isak.

Arsenal and Chelsea, meanwhile, are looking at other big names up front such as Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.

Player Goals so far this season
Alexander Isak 6 (14 games)
Viktor Gyokeres 24 (21 games)
Victor Osimhen 9 (11 games)
Dusan Vlahovic 9 (16 games)

Both are anticipated to be available for cheaper, at more like €75m, which could mean they represent better value for money than Isak overall.

While Isak has been a joy to watch in his time in the Premier League, his scoring record is arguably not quite as good as what we’ve seen from someone like Osimhen when he’s been at the peak of his powers.

Rodri tells Man City to use their millions to sign £48m talent Nico Williams

https://www.caughtoffside.com/2024/12/05/rodri-man-city-arsenal-nico-williams/

Nico-Williams-Arsenal-.jpg.webp

Athletic Club’s Nico Williams is one of the most sought-after players in European football at present following his exceptional 2023/24 campaign for both club and country.

The winger played a key role in Spain winning Euro 2024 in Germany this summer, which followed the 22-year-old’s displays that helped Athletic Club win the Copa del Rey last season.

Williams scored in the final of both competitions and his numbers overall last term were very impressive. Across the 37 matches he played for Athletic Club, the Spanish star produced eight goals and 19 assists.

This attracted the interest of several clubs during the summer transfer window with Barcelona and Arsenal among those looking to sign Williams.

Given their financial troubles, Barca could not get a deal done for the winger, which left the Gunners with an opportunity to sign the 22-year-old.

The Independent reported the North London club considered a move for the Athletic Club star during the last week of the summer window as the youngster has a £48m release clause in his contract.

However, Arsenal held off making a move for now as the Premier League club believed that the player didn’t want to leave Spain – which made La Liga president Javier Tebas happy – and that his medium-term aim was to go to Barcelona.

Following Man City’s struggles throughout the opening phase of the 2024/25 campaign, many expected the Premier League champions to strengthen their squad in 2025.

According to The Metro, Rodri has urged the Manchester club to make a move for his Spain teammate, Nico Williams. The midfielder knows how good the winger is and he must believe that the 22-year-old could make a difference at the Etihad Stadium.

The Spanish star is expected to leave Athletic Club next summer and it will be interesting to see if City make a serious offer, with Arsenal and Barcelona also in the race.

‼️West Ham are determined to strengthen their defense, and are interested in Tosin Adarabioyo, who is currently playing for Chelsea and under contract until June 2028.🗯

(via@footmercato)

🔵OL Marseille have held initial talks over signing the France
international, Benoit Badiashile, while he's also on Juventus' list of potential targets.🗯

(via@GFFN)

️Tosin,Badiashile,Disasi Hopefully they will all leave Chelsea by the summer.💯

💬Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and AC Milan are all showing an interest in the potential transfer of Lille wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi who could be available for a fee of €30m.

Odd one with Tosin, had some great games, had some shaky games, considering he was on a free and if we got a decent fee I'd be willing to let him go, but I do mean decent.. slash money off of Bowen for example. As I expect Murdryk will go on loan.

Happy for Badi to go, as long as Disasi goes first.

What's happening with Sterling? Haven't seen him for Arsenal.

🚨🆕 Understand that Vitor Reis is already a potential transfer target for Arsenal and Chelsea 👀 next summer!

Both clubs are closely monitoring the 18 y/o top talent from Palmeiras. Central defender with a contract valid until 2028.

@Vesper how well do you rate Vitor Reis?🫣🔵

Out

Disasi CB

Benoit CB

Chilwell (LB)

Casadei MF

Carney MF (sadly, hopefully a loan)

Murdryk (LW)

Guiu (ST)

Any I missed? Only ones I've read about so far. Wouldn't be surprised if they recalled Ugo rather than invest, oddly.

I actually feel that Sterling made a huge mistake going considering Murdryk consistency, I know he told to, but I can't help but think Enzo would have been good for him, despite him going go.. he was very Joe Cole last season, one game electric, one game poor and so on.

️Great list💪✍️

🗯Washington will also leave whether on loan or permanent he would have almost ended up at Strasbourg at the end of the summer.

I think Nkunku, Tosin KDH, Madueke and hopefully R.Sanchez will all leave Chelsea this summer too in addition to your players already listed above‼️

What makes you think we would sell Noni? He's been starter and one of the top performers. He improved a lot since we signed him, selling now would be quite risky, would be a shame if he reached his ceiling in other English team.

Also, Neto, Felix and Sancho were good additions but they all quite goal-shy. With Palmer and Nico mostly play in the middle Madueke is our only major goal threat on the wings.

At last, Noni seems to work great with our biggest star, Palmer. I would be surprised if we cashed in on him.

Disaster needs to be sold at all costs. His play in possession and his reading of the game is woeful. Only trait he has that is any good is being able to attack the ball in the air.

Chilwell needs to go because of his wage and the lack of trust Enzo has in him. Tbh, I am slightly surprised he hasn't at least got some Conference League minutes to keep him match fit as he isn't awful. But hey, ho.

Benoit is a good enough rotation option who is on low wages. Unless he wants to leave or a decent offer comes in, I am not sure I would sell him.

Casedei needs a loan. I wouldn't sell yet. One good loan a CM with his profile will rocket in value. He has both time and a low wage on his side.

Carney. Same as Casedei but his wages may be a bit more of an issue. Also brought for a higher fee. Still feel he is better on loan than sold right now.

Mudryk. Be surprised if we sold just because his value has bottomed out and a loan to Germany/Italy could help a lot. That said if someone came in with a OK fee, then I would also sell.

Guiu. Of all the above players I would loan. I actually like a lot of his game. He just needs to calm down in front of goal. Italy would be a great destination imo.

Noni strikes me as someone who will be sold for profit. We are running out of HG players to sell so we will need to start doing this with some of the players we brought. Estevao is coming next season so room may need to be made.

Personally, I like Noni a lot and wouldn't sell but if you put on a financial hat, you can see why the club may sell him.

It'd be a bit wild to sell one of our top performers for a 17 year old kid. Looking at Vini, Rodrigo, Endrick - who were absolute elite talents - they all needed 1-2 years in Europe to fully break into first team.

I'm not so sure about these financial decisions aswell. I still fail to see how loaning out Chalobah and signing Adarabioyo for free was a financial genious movement, neither buying Omari Kellyman for 20 million, without any path to first team. We are wasting hundreds of millions with shity contract management(Lukaku, Sterling, Mudryk next), but we shall sell one of our best players "for profit"? That'd be huge disappointment.

Badi needs to stay. He has shown great improvement. Everyone here talked how Caicedo and Cucu were shit and now they're our best players a lot of the time.

Disasi can go. Tosin can go. If Santos comes back from loan, KDH can go. I still feel given our injury history there, KDH is a solid option to have.

I wrote Badi off too, but I've been super impressed lately.

Sanchez/Petrovic backup , New World Class GK

Gusto/James

Disasi/Tosin backup , New World Class CB to compete with Colwill and Fofana

New LB to compete with Cucurella

If you want to compete for the  trophies you will need a top winger also Neto/Felix/Madueke as backup is ok . Mudryk this season is last chance to prove himself if not sale . Sancho probably will leave .

Top goalscorer  , Jackson can't be trusted regularly.

Veiga/Dewsbury Hall/Guiu loan , squad players or sale .

I don't disagree. More just playing devil's advocate.
