I actually think 25m could be a bargain. Brighton could certainly use a player of his quality, I don't even know why they would sell for that low. Then again, it's only The Sun reporting it and in all likelihood Ake is the only CB we're looking at. If I had to guess, he will be signing for Spurs in the summer since they missed out on Saliba(very good CB). killer1257

Do you believe it's true that Atleti want to sell and are prepared to do business at less than his buyout? If so should buyers be on guard? I'm thinking for around same money we can sell Kante and Jorginho and buy Saul and Havertz. Those two with Kovacic make perfect midfield 😍 I am open (for reasons stated in multiple posts and regardless of the hate I might get) to broaching the subject of selling Kante in the summer. I think he is being misused here now for two straight years. Kante as a more forward CMF would NEVER have gotten the global admiration he has. He was such a key to our title-winning defence (and Leicesters and France's) and know he is not being used in that way and it shows, badly. Unless we use him like we used to, he is a massive luxury player. that said I am not convinced of Havertz AT THE PRICE Bayer will demand (£100m or more I am looking at) Saul at £85m, on the other hand, is a fair price, he is a truly world class CMF and very versatile (can play LB, and AMF as well). I have some some slag him off, and I could not disagree more. Houssem Aouar is another creative CMF whom I like, as is Maximilian Eggestein of Werder Bremen. IF we sell Kante, we need a true DMF to replace him. Thomas at AM is a steal at around £42m release clause. The other option (as the club is apparently NOT interested in Camavinga) is Declan Rice. He will, however, cost close to double what Thomas will. I also like Sandro Tonali, a LOT. As for AMF's, yes Havertz is a potential world-beater (but is having a poor year so far), but the cost is just so high now, so maybe we can look at Nicolò Zaniolo, 20yo, BIG (1.90m) fast, and LEFT FOOTED who can also play RW. and finally, another left-footed RW/AMF soon 20yo (April) in the mix is our new Swedish star, Dejan Kulusevski (1.86m) who is on loan at Parma (tearing up Serie A, over a full season he is tracking to 10 to 12 goals and 16 to 18 assists in the league) from Atalanta Swedish ace Kulusevski left Kalidou Koulibaly on the turf when scoring past Napoli on Saturday

Do you believe it's true that Atleti want to sell and are prepared to do business at less than his buyout? If so should buyers be on guard? only way Saul makes sense (and IMHO I think this does make sense) is if we are selling Kante (he turns 30yo next season) in the summer and also buying a real crunching DMF like Thomas Partey (only £41.7m RC) to go with Saul (basically GUTTING AM's MF, lolol) or even Declan Rice at DMF (who will cost near double Thomas though) A Kante sale would cover most of the first two, and put us within 40 to 50m of Saul plus Rice. I am very aware that any talk of selling Kante is poison here. I am only showing what could be done. I truly just wish we would go back to using him as a destroyer, he is far far more impactful there, and lawd knows our defence needs it. Again, I expect a lot of hate from some quarters for even saying that in regards to his position. Rational thought (whether I agree with it or not, or whether others agree with my thoughts or not) and fair discussion seems to go out the window with Kante. It seems like some just want to ram him down the club's throat playing where Sarri moved him to, consequences be damned.

Vesper 30,178
Chelsea fans react to Ben White rumours https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/12/16/chelsea-fans-react-to-ben-white-rumours/ Chelsea's defence hasn't exactly been secure this season, and that may just tempt Frank Lampard into the transfer market. The Blues lost for the fourth time in five Premier League games on Saturday, falling to a 1-0 defeat as issues at the back continue to be shown up. Antonio Rudiger and Kurt Zouma were given the nod on Saturday, but they couldn't stop Dan Gosling from scoring the winner at Stamford Bridge. Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori have been given chances too, but with Chelsea possessing the leakiest defence in the top eight, Lampard must be eyeing reinforcements now Chelsea's transfer ban has been lifted. The Sun now claim that Chelsea are keen on Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White, who is currently on loan at Leeds United in the Championship. It's claimed that Lampard thinks White can make an instant impact with Chelsea, and they may be willing to stump up £25million to tempt Brighton into recalling White and selling him on. That would be hugely disappointing for Leeds, as the 22-year-old has been outstanding his season, fitting Marcelo Bielsa's style perfectly with his ability to play out from the back. However, whilst some Chelsea fans seem to be attracted to White's potential, many are taking to Twitter to suggest that this isn't the calibre of signing they're looking for in January. Some feel that White isn't the ideal signing because a left-sided defender like Nathan Ake would be better, whilst others feel that targeting a player who Brighton loaned out shows how far Chelsea are sinking. Some really don't want more Championship players after the likes of Tomori, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham played there last season, and think it's time for a big name to arrive rather than somebody like White. BDTips 34
Kepa on goal. Emerson and Alonso. If Alonso leaves we can buy another player. With different profile to Emerson and good business opportunity. Buy Ake! Ake and Rudiger. Tomori and Zouma. sell Christensen or if not possible, on loanto another club. James and Azpi Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic. We can play all three or just two and have another more offensive option. Mount is not that player. Here is the doubt, but I think it will be something to do in the summer. Pulisic, Tammy and Willian. Our trident. And here is the big problem of the squad. There is no valid option for any of the three. CHO can go out on loan and Pedro, Giroud and Bats just go out anyway. We need a 9, a different profile of Tammy and more experienced and one or two wings that offer guarantees. So now in January it is mandatory to buy Ake. It is an impossible opportunity to refuse. 40 million. Attack Options. It depends on the prices, the opportunities, the plans. It is imperial that people come. But do not burn money. Buy what we want if at reasonable prices. And if necessary we can try to bring one or two players on loan. It takes calm, a plan and intelligence. Let's take steps forward and not back. Please! Alonso still here after this summer is suicidal. Inter want him. Sell his wuthless arse. Barca want AC, sell his arse. That AC comes close to covering Ake buy. Buy Telles now (he only costs £33m so only 8m or so more than we can sell Alonso to Inter for) and sell Emerson to Juve in the summer IF we buy Chilwell (which I am also losing hope on, Pep is lurking hard, as all 3 (I KNOW THREE) LB's he has are blääääää. Mendy looks.a horrid overpay. Zaha just scored so that probably ups the probability we end up buying him by 10%, ffs. Sancho looks a pipedream atm. If we miss out on both Werner and Håland (as I assume we will) then cut some deal with Real for Jovic with an option to buy. I do not trust Dembele of Lyon for the money he will cost. They rape teams. In the summer buy a DMF like Thomas (42m RC) as it is obvious we are not going to use Kante there and Jorginho gets overrun with no true DMF. I say we need a WC CB, but it isnt happening. I am done even suggesting it. All it is doing is upping my discontent to too high a level. Sell Barkley and the rest of the dregs. Willian is a nightmare, as we are going to have to renew him as we cannot buy TWO RWers. Marina, the board, and Sarri have made a right proper mess of the club atm. Only saving grace are the youth. Without them and if no HUGE spend, we would be headed for longish spell floating between 12th and 7th or so. Atomiswave

Superblue 6,372
Someone who I think would be worth a punt in January is whether we could persuade Real Madrid to let us have Bale on loan. He's obviously not a long term choice but I believe he would be perfect for making an immediate impact for us. He'd be a talisman like figure that could help decide games and be just what we need as a spark in the second half of the season. He'll want to be fit and firing for Wales in the summer and I believe Lampard would be the perfect person to man manage and motivate him. Then in the summer, we can make more long term decisions.
