atm

Van Dijk (who is the best CB in the world, atm, even though I HATE the bindippers, he is other worldly atm)

Koulibaly

Raphaël Varane

drop off

José Giménez

pre-injury Aymeric Laporte (IF he fully recovers, he goes into the top 5 again

and, IF/when he settles in, de Ligt

just below them

Lucas Hernández

Skriniar

Marquinhos

Romagnoli (he really is a superb CB, he is just on a SHIT team)

and then potentially Konate in a couple years

after those 9 (and potentially 10)

BIG drop off

Umtiti looks like damaged goods (maybe permanently) or he would have been in there, he

Pretty much agree with the list. And my only point of asking that question (if you followed that particular convo), was to make a point that how many of these can we even realistically hope to get/pull away. None in the top bracket. No chance with VVD and varane. Koulibaly we have tried and infact went upto as much as 60/70m.

In the lower bracket, marquinhos - no chance. The rest are viable but will cost a fortune. I would hope that rudi comes back and makes a great pairing with zouma.

Are there any top promising wingers who are not Chelsea supporters?

Chukwueze looks like a good player. unfortunately another one that just signed a new contract for a 100m euro buy out clause.

i think we sell AC and buy Ake, which should be close to a wash money-wise and an upgrade for the EPL games. I do think AC can flourish in La Liga or (as he already has shown) the Bundesliga

I still have a faint glimmer of hope we make a move for Romagnoli, but I doubt it. Konate I fear is going to end up at Arse (Saliba and Konate would be the beast patrol) or Spuds or Manure, and is going to terrorise us for years to come.:(

Varane regressed a little bit since World Cup. I think he wants new challenge. Playing for Madrid for almost a decade now. If he doesn't sign new contract by the end of the season I think he'll leave. I know there's a 500m release clause but Real was always kind to players who wanted to leave.

Nathan Ake would walk back here IMO, knowing now Frank is in charge.

I do not trust Zouma one bit, he looks so clumsy and inept on the ball.

Why? Zouma has been absolutely brilliant

You have Tomori who is not imposing physically, you need to pair him with beast like Zouma.

We dont need cb. We have Zouma, Tomori, Rudiger, AC. I have no problem with all of them.

What we need is a real DM.

Mou has wanted since he was a teen

dog help us if they somehow grab him at Spuds (I do so doubt Levy would drop that type of cash, and I doubt Varane would go to spuds anyway)

I see him at PSG or Juve or even Manure (IF they were fixed) long before Spuds though

Totally agree. I have always maintained we dont need a CB, its when others say that we should go for a "world class" CB, then I question which ones and if it wont be better to spend it in area where we are actually lacking in quality as well as quantity.

As for the last line, I disagree. Just before the international break, we were all saying odes to jorginho. The guy has performed really well and just needs a breather. Kova, Kante, Jorginho, RLC, mount, gilmour/gallagher are good options. And if we do get a DM, it would simply hamper the progress of the youth. Imo, what we need is a LB, ST (back up/competition to tammy), RW. Keep the core intact, build on it by adding strength in depth where needed (ST, wingers, LB) and we should be good.

It only goes to serve just how massive a club we are in the modern game.

The players coming to prominence now would have seen nothing but Chelsea winning big titles, aslong as we're competitive we will be an absolutely huge pull for this up and coming generation, even more so now we've got with the times regarding style of play.

What do you think Pulisic is going to do for youth at USA?

USA is still an "infant" at the sport if you want to call it that.

But if it continues to progress in another 10 years we can see some more growth.

DM is imo priority no 1 priority, preferably a taller. Yes we have tons of midfielder but there is only one who is a sitting mid and he provide little defensive cover.

Personally, I am surprised we have not tried AC there. He plays that position for Denmark. That said, I have been going on for ages that we need a more physical CM. Imo, I reckon we are seriously looking at SMS. He is actually a possibility in Jan if we can get the ban liftrd.

Have to disagree until we see who we are buying. The time for those traditional DMs is almost over. Its about defending as a team and a system. Before the international break, we played 6 PL games and conceded 4/5? Its just a point of Lamps getting the right/perfect system.
