Nah, not having that. He couldn’t have imagined both Kante and Kova getting injured already. One before the season even started and the other in the second fucking match. Then RLC gets injured at the same time. He (and all of us, let’s be fair) also probably didn’t foresee Gallagher looking like a deer in headlights after his impressive Palace spell.

We looked set in midfield for this season with 4 quality options and then RLC as a emergency player. I think the plan was obviously to address the midfield with a dramatic refresh next summer when Kante and Jorgi would be allowed to go. The fact that we didn’t even try for a midfielder all summer proves it.

Knowing how injury prone Kante and Kova are, how could he have not foreseen this to happen?

I'm sorry, what?

Kante and Kovacic missed 31 games combined last season. It was incredibly apparent that when both of them were not in the lineup, we struggled. Ruben is no where near good enough to play in the pivot at a high level and he too has his injury problems. Jorginho also continues to be an utter liability and it's made more apparent with Kante or Kovacic aren't covering for him.

It was incredibly evident we needed another quality midfielder this season. So blatantly obvious.

So Alvarez off the table, Sangare off the table unless a silly offer comes in, and we aren’t even trying for Douglas Luiz. Reports this morning that Billy G wouldn’t be allowed to leave because of the injury crisis we have in midfield but now reports are that he will actually be allowed to leave even though we haven’t brought a new midfielder in.

Are we mental? Sides like Leeds and bloody Southampton ran through our midfield like it wasn’t there. West Ham with Rice, Soucek, etc will probably do the same this weekend in a game we MUST WIN. And yet we aren’t going to sign someone there?

Good luck to Tuchel if so…🫣

Toss Tuchel on at DMF

Okay, he surely didn’t think THREE would get injured simultaneously at the very start of the season.

Kante has shown to be injury prone since the Lampard era. Kovacic also has a chronic hamstring issue since 2 years ago.

Again, it is incredibly naïve to think they would all of a sudden not become injury prone anymore. It's also so blatantly obvious that when one of them aren't on the pitch, we struggle immensely. It's also evident that should be doing better than Jorginho.

Look at Saints second goal. Tell me if that would ever happen to Rodri, Fabinho, Bentacur, Casemiro, or Partey?

Or Guido Rodríguez, who I have NO FUCKING idea why we are not after, he is the starting DMF for Argentina, has all the tools, and is a fully mature player who is loads more physical than the human sieve Jorginho.

Just £9m for Billy. I’m not even one of those Chelsea fans who see this brilliant future superstar or anything and even I can see that’s a ridiculously low price. Especially since it’s to a side like Brighton who develop players into £50m + sales.

United were just able to get £15m for some kid who didn’t even play for their first team, ffs. We really couldn’t get £20-25m for him WITH a reasonable buy back clause?
