Anyone else find it strange that literally no other top club has gone for Bruno Fernandes if he's as good as United fans think he is? Journalists are making it sound like they're signing Iniesta. No other big club from any league are after him seriously.

To me he has huge bust potential just like many of United's recent buys.

Sky Sports have been wanking themselves over it for the past week or so.

I am not sure we have even made a single formal bid, enquiries yes.

Problem we have is if we sign a striker now and Giroud doesnt go, we have 4 strikers, and one, even 2; will be kicking his heels doing sod all, like now with Giroud.

So it's much better to wait to see if Giroud goes first.  I think that is the reason no one has arrived more i think about it

Whilst I think it's vital to retain Giroud if another striker doesn't come in, I don't think it's a deal breaker if Giroud doesn't leave.

Lampard has already shown that he'll only use Giroud if it's the last option and he's barely played this season so I don't think the club will be overly fussed if he's still in the same position come the end of the window.

Having said that I think it would be pretty easy to find a move for Giroud even if it was until the end of the season covering his wages with a small loan fee. For him, any move is likely better than the current position he's in and the Euros in the summer.

All hinges on Giroud

This.  Inter seem to be dragging their heels.  I really dont see much to the Spurs rumour.  There will be a contingency in place incase he does go though.  Soon as its complete, the club will know who they want, and action it, we hope

It just wouldnt make sense to me to have Abraham, Batshuayi and Giroud (barely used) and then sign another.  I dont think we'd do that, which is why i think its all hinging on giroud going.  If he does, we replace, if he doesnt, we sign no one

For the sake of 4 months of football I can't see Chelsea not doing it if they believe an option was available to significantly strengthen the striking group, and offer Lampard an option who he is confident in using.

If an option was available that Chelsea and Lampard wanted to pursue I just don't see an out of favour player preventing that from happening if it improves our chances of making top 4 this season.

(I know we shouldn't do panic buys again but...)

Let them. If United get the Fernandes deal over the line then Solskjaer would have spent around £200m in the last 6 months and they still look a long way off the pace. If anything Fernandes joining is only likely to facilitate Pogba leaving in the summer and if that happens it certainly won't make United look any stronger at least on paper.

For a club as 'cheap' as Spurs, they went big in the summer for N'dombele and Sessegnon. The loan move for Lo Celso was always likely to happen because they paid a large loan fee and I think was more to do with pushing deals potentially across transfer windows and accounts. And now spending a sizeable chunk on Bergwijn. With the noose of the stadium being paid off, if they don't get top 4 this season I can't see them spending much next summer unless Mourinho and Levy are prepared to sell one of their bigger assets to raise funds.

I know it's frustrating seeing others make deals and I personally wouldn't mind us bringing in a new attacker to compete with Tammy but I would rather we be aiming for a better calibre of player than both of these are in for at present.

glad to see you finally getting pissed off and sarcastic

I think it is shameful if we literally do nothing all window but sign a 16yo Norwegian kid

we have had ages to try and game this shit out

as I posted before, I see no way we get SIX or SEVEN players in in the summer, and some of those 6 are monsters to pull

2 LB's (Lampard clearly does not rate either of the 2 we have at all)

1 DMF

2 Wingers (I will go BONKERS if we renew that twat prat Willian on damn near 200K PW for 2 more years)

2 CF's (granted one will be easy, a 3rd stringer youngster like Josh Maja I hope)

and those seven (or six) mean no actions elsewhere at all, so it could be even more

plus we have a literal shit tonne of rapidly devaluing deadwood and dregs STILL on the books, and not even ones like Moses are truly off it (for that matter even Atalanta could fuck us with Pasalic, lolol)

and at least 3 or 4 of those buys they want in the summer are super fucking hard pulls, so so NOT guaranteed at all, and if we swing and miss on all 4, we are well and truly fucked HARD

so so pissed at the fucking board

Vincenzo Morabito, one of the intermediaries in Inter’s negotiations with Chelsea over Olivier Giroud, appears to have suggested the move is off.

As per various reports in the media, the two clubs had a deal in place over the 33-year-old Frenchman whilst reports have also stated Inter had agreed personal terms with the former Arsenal player.

Giroud has been limited to just seven appearances across all competitions this season for the Blues, who he is contracted to until the end of the season.

“Bye bye Inter,” Morabito posted to Facebook followed by a series of crying face emojis.
