Should never have got him. He Didn’t suit our squad then.

True. And tbf, thks kid does look like a proper baller. But I’m just very weary about targeting yet another wide attacker who’s playing against much weaker opposition and stepping up to the PL. We’ve been getting this LW position wrong over and over again and really can’t afford for another bust. We need as close to a sure thing as we can possibly buy.

That’s if we even play with traditional wingers, actually.

Oh definitely, we need to get it right with next purchase.

Shame Quenda & Estevao are both naturally RWers.

Can see us playing with WBs under Alonso .. Barco LWB

Great shout. Barco is tailor made for that role and will be an easy buy with zero fuss.

🗯💣🔵Simon Phillips has some great transfer news today regarding the summer.

🙌Chelsea is working internally on bringing Lewis Hall back.

👌Chelsea is working intensively on a transfer for Mika Godts from Ajax.

️Xabi Alonso wants to keep Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez at Chelsea.

️But Cucu has been desperate to leave since January 2026

Manchester City, Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid are all desperate to sign Cucurella.

No thanks to Lewis Hall. Solid PL LB but not top class and a clear downgrade on Cucu.

If we sell Cucu then Barco has to be his replacement. He can become that super versatile left sided fullback/midfielder hybrid we need.

I dont agree with this.

We will not get a world class left back lol. if we sell cucul, LH is a great replacement

I would take Lewis Hall as a replacement. Depending on which system you play, both are better in different areas imo. Lewis Hall is younger and has a higher ceiling too. It will not happen though as we don't have a buy back clause, I am sure and he will cost too much. He also wanted to leave to go to that part of England anyway.

Eli Junior Kroupi has been linked with a move away from Bournemouth at the end of the season.

https://www.caughtoffside.com/2026/05/16/liverpool-eli-junior-kroupi-transfer/

The French attacker has been outstanding for the Cherries since joining the club, and he has 12 goals in the Premier League so far. The 19-year-old is a young player with a bright future, and he could develop into a star with the right guidance.

He has been linked with multiple clubs in recent weeks. According to a report from Spanish publication SPORT, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea are all keeping tabs on him.

However, Tiago Pinto, the chief executive of the English club, has now revealed that the player will not be leaving the club in the summer. He has a long-term contract with them, and there is no release clause in his deal. He added that the player will not be sold, even if Liverpool offers €100 million for him.

He said: “We will not sell Kroupi even if Barcelona or Liverpool offer 100 million euros. That is completely out of the question”.

Liverpool could use more quality in the final third, and a dynamic attacker like Kroupi would have been ideal for them. He can operate as a centre forward as well as on the flanks. He would have added goals and technical ability in the final third. He has the attributes to develop into a star with the right guidance. It is fair to assume that he will eventually end up at a top club.

It is highly unlikely that the Cherries will sanction his departure this summer, and any club hoping to sign him will have to wait for now.

Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked with Kroupi.

Victor Froholdt has been linked with a move away from Porto at the end of the season.

https://www.caughtoffside.com/2026/05/16/victor-froholdt-liverpool-arsenal-transfer/

Liverpool and Arsenal are reported to be interested in the 20-year-old playmaker. He has had an impressive season with the Portuguese club, registering 15 goal contributions across all competitions.

He could prove to be an interesting long-term acquisition for Liverpool and Arsenal. They could use more creativity and technical ability in the midfield, and the 20-year-old would be a superb option to have.

The player was recently asked about a potential move to the Premier League, and he has revealed that he wants to compete in the UEFA Champions League with Porto, and he plans to stay with the club beyond this season.

He said to A Bola: “In football you can never promise anything, you can never predict the market. But what I want is to stay here. That is the plan.

“I love being here and I would love to play in the UEFA Champions League with this badge. I am very happy here and I would love to play next season here. Surely I will be at the Dragão next season.”

The development will come as a huge boost for the Portuguese club, and they will hope to keep him beyond the season. He is an important player for them, and they will not want to lose him easily. Meanwhile, Liverpool and Arsenal need more cutting-edge, and should look to move on to the target. If a deal for the 20-year-old cannot be done.

Even though Liverpool invested a substantial sum in Florian Wirtz, he has not lived up to expectations, and the team needs more creativity. At Arsenal, Martin Odegaard has not been at his best this season. Froholdt could have been a handy option for both clubs.

Victor Froholdt's debut season in Portuguese football ended perfectly. After becoming national champion with FC Porto, the 20-year-old Danish midfielder was the big winner at the Liga Portugal annual awards, taking home a historic double: Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.

The awards were decided exclusively by votes from coaches and captains of the top division and were handed out this Saturday, right after the final whistle of the Porto victory over Santa Clara at the Dragão.

The undisputed engine of the champions

Signed in the summer 2025 transfer window, the number 8 immediately established himself as the most indispensable piece in Francesco Farioli's tactical setup. Showing remarkable consistency, Froholdt featured in all 34 league matches (starting 31 of them), becoming the FC Porto outfield player with the most minutes played in the competition (2,875).

In the race for the top Player of the Year award, the Danish international received 43% of the votes, comfortably beating Sporting's duo of Luis Suárez (29.5%) and Francisco Trincão (15%).

Absolute dominance among the under-21s

The young Nordic's impact was even more overwhelming in the Young Player of the Year category, where he claimed an impressive 49.5% of the votes. The podium in this category was completed by Benfica's Andreas Schjelderup, who finished second with 24.5%, and Gustavo Sá, Famalicão's creative midfielder, who rounded up the top three with 15.5% of the votes.

At just 20 years old and after a stunning debut season, Froholdt has written his name into the golden gallery of Portuguese football, capping off a memorable year for the azul e branco universe.
