Ornstein story confirms we are not considering selling Josh.

Would certainly hope so but there were already stories popping up in previous windows about him considering a move away. He agreed to  stay because he had been getting opportunities. Now that he’s not I wonder if he’ll get his head turned by another big club.

Especially if we’re bringing another CB in.

🔴Liverpool have held fresh talks over the signing of Adam Wharton. Wharton is keen on the move. There is confidence within Liverpool that Wharton will become a Liverpool player.

🟠Manchester City are very confident of beating Manchester United and Chelsea to the signing of Nottingham Forest's England midfielder, Elliot Anderson.

Wharton and Anderson seem to be done with Chelsea!

Baleba will end up at United!

🔵L’Equipe say it’s quite possible for Chelsea to return with an improved bid for Jeremy Jacquet.

The French club could accept it if it’s ‘slightly above €50m’.

The Blues are encouraged to raise their offer ‘slightly’ to secure Jacquet’s services.

Hard to know what to believe these days. The club have moved in a really strange manor when it comes to briefing the media. Feels like we hear “Chelsea have moved for ____,” and then it’s just total silence for ages and we don’t hear about any advancement.

Like the Douglas Luiz thing. That brief went out a week ago we haven’t heard a peep since. So are we actually after another midfielder or not? Lavia apparently posted that he’s back fit so does that change the thinking? Not that he’ll be fit for longer than 5 minutes of course.

Lavia cannot be trusted, and we need to act ASAP for a back up

You’re right, he can’t be trusted. But if he is indeed fit what do we do with him if a new midfielder is brought in? Hard to see where he’d get minutes if Caicedo, Enzo, Santos, and some new guy are all available.

You can't even ask the question of Lavia's fitness and make it valid. We need cover for him because he will collapse again and we will have the same conersation

I really like the look of Anselmino and have since we bought him. Has the potential to be a top player. But unless Rosenoir himself is the one who really fancied bringing him back and it was HIS idea to play him meaningful minutes in place of Badiashile and Tosin surely it made more sense to leave him at Dortmund to develop further.

If this was the directors just bringing him back as squad filler who will ride the bench as emergency cover because they failed to get Jacquet that would be fucked up. He clearly loved it there at BVB and judging by the reactions from their supporters and the club itself they really thought highly of him too.

Makes no sense to bring back here to bench him, that is literally killing the kid and his career/development

I will be fuming if this is the case as this is another bit of rank bad management of a player

Fetch him back and start him, otherwise send his somewhere he will play all the time, but why disrupt this by doing what we are doing to then not play him.

This club at times is bizarre

The other weird thing about recalling him is that we have repeatedly been told that we either want a central CB who controls the buildup from deep or a left footed, left sided CB who plays the Colwill role.

From all the footage I’ve watched of Anselmino at Dortmund he plays pretty much exclusively on the right side of the defense. So much so that he almost occupies the RB area.

We’ve currently got Josh, Trev, and Fofana who are all natural RCB competing for that spot and Josh is struggling to do so as it is.
