In terms of left-footed CBs, here the only ones remotely available (in January or, more likely summer 2026 and some are CRAZY hard pulls, like my number one/number two CB want on the planet, Alessandro Bastoni, the other number one/two want being the now NOT at all available ambipedal Dean Huijsen, who went to Real Madrid and THAT just so fucked us this season, but hey, no club can compete with Real if they WANT a player badly) that I rate:

10 veterans, in 2 tiers , plus a 17 (18yo in February) youth

The risk of the books not being balanced, would simply mean we can't register them for Europe right? Still would keep someone for the league.

Although, if Maresca and the directors gave more chances to Acheampong, we could manage until end of the season (assuming Fofana also stays fit)

You have to take the good with the bad.   I'm not a fan of Clearlake and their strategy but they did get us some solid players. 

They got us Caicedo, Enzo, Palmer, Estevao, Gusto.   Penders is also developing on loan. 

I think the big question is, what is the next step for the club.   Do we continue to float around the top 6 with "new signings" or do we start competing with the big boys?

Penders is interesting, I wonder if we should bring him back next season or let him continue to play in France? 

And the club did good as well with Santo but I'm still not sure on him. I will wait until the summer and see how he does the entirety of the season and see if we should sell or keep. 

Because even though the club did good buying him and now his price has increased in sure we can do better then him.... But again let's see the entirety of his season how he handles.

Yea Santos is an interesting one, he's got all the physical tools to be a good midfielder but he's not really a DM or a floating "10" like we need. 

Think the bigger question will be around Lavia's future, surely we don't just keep on the books for 5 games a season.  Quality player on his day but he's worse than Fofana in terms of small injuries.
