I predict a lot of trademark Sterling far post tap ins for Arse. He’ll be a good depth signing for them. Martinelli can go from looking like a beast in some games to looking like a complete headless chicken pace merchant for a long stretch. So I think Sterling is a solid alternative.

Why would Arsenal take him though tbh?

He'd get more playing time here than he would there barring injuries.

Like @Pizy wrote above, because Martinelli is extremely inconsistent; so, they may get a full season-long winger between the two of them.

I have my doubts whether Sterling works hard enough for that type of system, but that's me. My theory is that he's given up on the "elite" part of being a footballer.

In addition, I’ve seen lots of Arse fans say that Saka gets really burnt out as the season goes on because they rely on him so much. So Sterling could rotate for him too.

Strasbourg’s club-record €21m deal for Chelsea’s Deivid Washington has collapsed

https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2024/strasbourgs-club-record-e21m-deal-for-chelseas-deivid-washington-has-collapsed/

Strasbourg’s club-record €21m deal for Chelsea’s Deivid Washington (19) has collapsed, according to a report from L’Equipe. The outlet broke the news this Friday morning that the Blues would offload the Brazilian centre-forward to the BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side. Washington signed for Chelsea from Santos last year in a €16m move, putting pen to paper over a seven-year deal with the Blues. The 19-year-old spent the better part of the 2023-2024 campaign with Chelsea’s U21 squad, with which he logged six goals in 11 games.

The fact Chelsea’s sister club would break their record transfer for Washington seems to have raised eyebrows within the game. The deal was advanced up to the point a medical in London was scheduled for the 19-year-old. However, L’Equipe understands the deal collapsed in the 11th hour. The outlet adds that Chelsea might have pulled the plug following reports stating that the Premier League would investigate Washington’s potential move to Strasbourg, considering the deal would have occurred between clubs that share the same owner.
