Perhaps the fact that we tried hard for him last summer will be the decisive advantage for us. Shows that the club really want and value him.

But what happens if we offer him let’s say £120-150k per week and United/City/Arse/Liverpool offer him £200-250k per week? Double the wages and UCL football feels like it would be super hard to turn down.

Olise is also a Chelsea youth product, and his brother is still at the club.

I don't really believe in any of this player trading stuff. For FFP reasons we want to buy and sell players in completely separate transactions surely. When was the last time anyone heard of a cash+player swap deal? I think it makes virtually no sense these days.

Of course we could be open to selling them a player that we're comfortable selling, at fair market value. But that would have been the case anyway, you'd imagine.

Why aren't we in for one of the most exciting talents in world? Crazy if they gonna go for some noname with mixed bags again.

They probably want to see how Fofana fairs this season before spending big on another young CB.

That’s because it is extremely rare to do straight swaps these days.

what happens is that the clubs perform 2 separate linked transactions; it only goes through if both succeed.

that is actually quite common.
