There will be a lot of competition. It would not be a bad idea to complete the deal this window, including the long contract while the FFP calculation still over the entire length of the contract and then loan him back to finish the season. It is getting too late for them to find a replacement.

Caicedo would be a nice signing but not one that gets me excited. I won’t be devastated or heartbroken if he goes elsewhere. Unlike with Enzo.

We can get a number of players with Caicedo’s profile for a LOT less than what Brighton are demanding.

This is what I was alluding to before not for Enzo but mainly Caicedo - there are so many players who can tackle and intercept like he does with much better passing range and vision

As we get closer to the end of the transfer window I feel more like we'll just be signing a backup RB and waiting until summer for everything else. It does feel like it would make sense to get Enzo done now and on a long ass contract for FFP reasons, but if we're not I'm sure the club have a plan for summer. We have a pretty good recruitment team in place now imo.
