TheHulk 2,483
Update Enzo: Chelsea is not flexible in terms of payment and Benfica also does not accept less than it asks. Rui Costa sees no benefits from selling Enzo on installments for now. Benfica intends to advance against Chelsea for having made the player's head with promises and dreams. It is not Chelsea that retreats, it is Benfica that was intransigent in the way it negotiated the player's pass. Rui Costa only accepted the clause outright. Chelsea was also not flexible and the deal should even fall through in the next few hours. -Jorge, from transfers What an absolute car crash of an owner says something after changes stance just to piss the selling team. I'm fucking done with football this season. Costa19

We will have to stay level headed and start to look at Mac Allister.... Ceceido.... that Koune fella from the French League. Whatever happens... we need midfielders and fast. We've foiled our position. Brighton now know how much we have to spend so they will up their asking price on both Mac Allister and Caicedo. This is worse than when we failed to lure Dembele, Raphinha, De Ligt, Skriniar, Kimpembe, Lewandowski, Gnabry, Sane, etc. because Enzo actually wants to join us but we are toying with the asking price. This, in every sense, is a calamity of business operations and I for one am losing every remaining ounce of optimism I have under Boehly's rule. Pizy 18,952
Would be really rotten if you get the players hopes up, convince him to join, and then balk at the last minute at paying the release clause. Any other midfielder we may sign from here is a pretty substantial downgrade on Enzo. None of Alvarez, Caicedo, or Rice (in the summer) offers the complete package. mkh
TheHulk 2,483
CMTV is even saying that Enzo is disappointed with Chelsea because they promised him that they would beat the clause I'm sure many top players will come from here on when you make fake promises to them. He is lucky Nkunku even signed. didi007
DDA 9,941
If this is indeed true about the Enzo deal... Then I'm losing faith in the way Bohely operates. This first transfer window was fair enough as he was inexperienced but this one is pure embarrassment.

TheHulk 2,483
Chelsea went directly to talk to the player and the agent promised that they would break the clause, they spoke with Benfica to guarantee the same. But now that the player starts to force out they no longer want to pay.

DDA 9,941
This is what happens when you let The fucking Americans come into our sport and perform clown acts. This is a circus routine happening in front of our very own eyes. Vesper

Dumfries is playing well at Inter, makes no sense for to be here if he wants to keep playing. Dumfries is far from the only option. I have listed many others, for ages, for years. Yet nothing done. It is madness to rely on Azpi and then, if he cannot go, batshit cray things like RLC or Sterling as a RB.
Pizy 18,952
Would add insult to injury if Liverpool or United suddenly decide to swoop now that our move looks off.

chelsea_4_eva 1,182
I mean technically speaking we did beat the clause, we are willing to pay higher than the clause. The problem is paying it in installments, which I understand why we are trying to do that. Tbh I am actually excited to see what happens next.. TheHulk 2,483
@SLBenfica wants the 120 millions of the release clause in one payment instead of the 127 millions in many installments. @ChelseaFC don't want to pay that amount of money now. One step back on Enzo's deal. Next hours are crucial. ⏳
Vesper 30,224
Andrey Santos now “in London having medical” after agreement with Chelsea – But chief says “deal not closed” http://sportwitness.co.uk/chief-reveals-player-london-medical-ahead-Chelsea-move-deal-not-closed/ Even though it’s been a couple of weeks since the Brazilian media reported Chelsea’s deal with Vasco da Gama for the transfer of Andrey Santos, the Blues are still to confirm the youngster’s arrival at the Stamford Bridge. The agreement, however, is now announced by the Rio de Janeiro side. In a press conference, their director Paulo Bracks claimed the clubs have already shook hands for the move to happen, and now wait for minor details until that’s made official. “Andrey, he’s in London having the medical. Vasco accepted Chelsea’s proposal, but the deal is not closed,” said Paulo Bracks (via Globo Esporte). “Between a proposal made and accepted until finalization, there is no manual of days. It can take a week, 15 days, 30 days. It is important to point out because I understand the anxiety, but negotiations are complex.” Since the agreement was initially reported, there had been several claims regarding the price paid by Chelsea for the transfer. The latest of them said the initial amount is of €12.5m, with other potential bonuses. The Brazilian media had also claimed that Andrey Santos would still apply for a working visa to play in the Premier League, and in case that was not granted, he’d stay on loan at Vasco until the middle of the year. Therefore, that could be one of the issues holding the Chelsea transfer for now.
