While only Cech and JT longer and they are much older than him. He might potentially end up as the longest player stayed in RA era. Crazy. Popular Post! bababoom 4,478 Posted August 3, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted August 3, 2014 Mikel should be sold imo, he will never improve and and although defensively he may be solid he just offers next to nothing going forward. .. tbh he's just uninspiring. Romeu has so much potential, he's a decent passer, very aggressive and presses well. I actually remember back in the AVB days he would be the only one in midfield who pressed the opposition. dee25, happy_juan, lucio and 3 others

What's so special about him? His endless sideways passes? The ability to be dispossessed in his own half like no one else? I really don't get the hype around him to be fair. Its better 4 us to part ways with him. happy_juan

To show that potential week in week out and try and force his way past Matic and Mikel in the future. Coming back from an ACL injury, he still needs to prove he is capable of playing for a good side week in week out, cos he didn't do that at Valencia. U clearly havent seen Romeu play he plays forward balls more often than not, and his passing is decisive together with his tackling, everythin he does is better than what mikel offers happy_juan

Its no coincidence that over the 8 years hes been here - Mourinho, Grant, Scolari, Hiddink, Ancelotti, AVB, Robbie, Benitez and once again Mourinho - have all wanted JOM to be here. Some of the best managers in the world have wanted him in their sides. And he's played in pretty much every final since he arrived here. And furthermore, granted, hes not everyones cup of tea, but for 8 years hes given his all for the badge. And that is all Chelsea fans should ask for. CHOULO19, mannyfreshh, Fernando and 1 other

DavidEU 2,023
No they did not, every manager bar Di Matteo tried to replace him or did not really play him in the first team He's played 303 times for Chelsea... Those managers didn't do a great job replacing him then did they? Besides, how many defensive midfielders have we signed since Mikel has been here? Miniero and Matic twice? There is no hype both are not worth wearing the Chelsea shirt but atleast Romeu has more hope to improve due to his age. Add creativy and flair to that list and you have Iniesta, too. Lol
