Jype 6,398
I think Torres should be the man against Barcelona, with Torres as Plan B.And how would that work exactly? capriccioso
Kezza 1,965
Start Drogba against Barcelona. If Puyol and Pique saw him today, they would be shitting themselves. capriccioso and BleedsBlue
capriccioso 2,545
Drogba can destroy who he likes, when he likes. Shame he doesn't bother with the league anymore. Start him against Barcelona, use him as a battering ram to do bugger all but shatter Pique and Puyol's strength reserves. Then bring on Torres after an hour to keep him fresh for the Arsenal game, where again he'll have to score his customary double vs the scum and then be subbed off on the hour to keep him fresh for the Camp Nou. Las7 951
Yes I will miss Drogba hope he becomes a manager some day so I can see him at Chelsea FC once more him and Lampard are true legends - too bad that everyone ages and at some point you need to let them go. capriccioso

Blue Armour 4,439
Sometimes I just can't believe that we're about to let Drogba just walk away from the club. You don't get a player like that too often.I still remember how John Terry remarked at the start of the 2009 season, that Christiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United and us holding onto Didier would prove key. When it comes to these players, what separates them from the rest is not just the skill and the ability, its their attitude. From the current crop, Danny Sturridge looked like something special at the start of the season, but I'm not so sure at the moment. He may step up in the future, but who's going to be our big game player next season? capriccioso

There is absolutely no way in hell that we should consider giving him a 2 year deal. If he wants to leave then let him. CHOULO19 24,332
We can't keep him just so he can play at wembley and the odd big CL match. Him leaving will clear out a spot for a striker that will show up in every game.

Time to move on unfortunatelyI'm well aware of why he has to leave soon.I just don't know if we should do so without knowing if someone can take up his mantle once he does leave. For instance Man Utd had Rooney to take over from Ronaldo, Barcelona had Messi take over from Ronaldinho, but do we have someone of that level? Arsenal never got anyone to fill in for Henry, (at least until RVP when he became fit for an entire season) and well, we can see the results of that. I just doubt whether the club can get to pick and choose someone to replace him, with all the financial restrictions coming into place. BlueLion. 21,491
We'll get a new number 11 and a new goal-getter for sure, but we won't ever get another Drogba. Absolute legend. Kieran., Blue Armour, Melanicus and 1 other
