At Real Madrid, he was the second-choice to Benzema, the same Benzema that went 13 games without scoring for France.

He's not as horrible as our strikers but he is little more than average. Certainly, he would be an upgrade from Torres, Ba and Etoo. But if you tell me Higuain is in the same class as Falcao, Aguero, Lewandowski or Costa, then you are out of your mind.

Higuain is worth perhaps 20 million. Anything over that would be overpriced.

He wasn't second choice to Karim. Mourinho simply rotated the two of them as stats show:

fuck me, £50 million for higuain? as much as i hate de laurentiis for the cavani saga, i just hope he'll do the same thing this time too and reject every bid out there. with diego costa available for £32 million how the hell we're even thinking about higuain? costa might not be available in this transfer window, but i'd rather have him in the summer and stick with eto'o, torres and ba untill then, than having higuain near this team.

Well after his surgery he was more of a second choice. Karim played most of the CL games from start for example and also often played the Clasicos.

Higuain is massively overrated. in the CL he sucked every year and couldnt score for his life (just remember the Lyon chance). against Barca he also barely impressed. 50 m would be a huge joke, even 40 m was a joke, but Napoli had to pay them because of Cavani. Futhermore Higuain is nobody who combines with a team greatly, more of a proacher who waits for his chance and just scores (well he is really good at it, no one can deny). but he tends to often lose his nerves in big games and waste clear chances. For 30 m he would be ok, but everything above it would be insane.
