Spike 12,049
What about Zanetti, Cambiasso, etc?You can hardly win a tournament with just Zanetti and Cambiasso no matter who good they are (and they are world class).
capriccioso 2,545
You can hardly win a tournament with just Zanetti and Cambiasso no matter who good they are (and they are world class).Repped for that delicious spelling mistake
BlueLyon 9,359
Cavani, Falcao, Dzeko, Adrian, Doumbia, Benzema are workers, they would somehow fit system. But Higuain, Gomez etc are poachers and we would need realy good midfield and specialy good wingers with good crosses to actualy make poachers usefull. Since we dont have that, working ST needs to come IF we will get him anyway
Jase 43,479
IF we are going to splash 30m+ for Higuain, I would rather see us purchasing Falcao. More of all rounder type of striker that will suit our playing style than Higuain.
LDN Blue 7,903
As many have already said, Higuain would never work in the Chelsea system. We simply don't possess the pass-masters required for a poacher to shine here
Joker10 946
I am more optimistic a poacher would succeed in our system then i was in the beginning of the season. Mainly because 4-2-3-1 is much more suited for a poacher skills.4-3-3 is more suited for a more rounded striker, who can drop back and link up plays between midfield and attack. Drogba and Messi are prime examples of that.

Mata could only do so much from his position but we'd need another player of that calibre too, who knows if Marin's got a killer pass on him or not. Ramires' wasn't blessed with the best passing abilities either, but he's effective at running into the box and cutting it across, case & point would be his pass to Drogba in the first leg v. Barca. In an ideal scenario we could be a 4-2-3-1 squad off the ball and 4-4-2 when in possession because I think a poacher and all-round striker would be much more effective than a lone-poacher. I was generally speaking playing a #10 is almost necessary when you have a lone poacher. We can blame and criticize Torres all we want, but tbf to him we tried to make him and play him like Drogba, and not even try to accommodate for his skill set. But as i said i am more optimistic players like Torres can succeed now that we have changed our formation and have Mata in the #10 role. At present we're not a team that could accommodate last-shoulder strikers. That's why I think Drogba should depart this summer, so we can usher in a new era of the club's football philosophy. With dedicated players to the formation and system which will play ball-to-feet, not hoof it up and hope for the best. (Which is no criticism of the latter, since it's been very effective for the better part of the last 8-9years)
BlueLyon 9,359
Rated at 150mio by Mourinho. By that, he clearly meant to fuck off with his leaving rumours.Lock this topic, we wont buy him for sure, he is NOT available.
OneMoSalah 8,886
Higuain does want to leave Real Madrid and has offers from ourselfs, Manchester City and PSG according to Guillem Balague. Probably a bit late but yeah fuck it!
rolling in the blue 26
I'd like to have him at chelsea.Sell torres instead,he's finished imo
BlueLyon 9,359
Mou said he can leave ony for 150mio. I dont know if he wants to leave, but I am pretty sure no one will pay 150 for him. Its meaningless, he will not come here and for 35 mio (as he is rated realy), we can get much better striker. Falcao, Cavani, Llorente,... Funkyflashman 187
Word on the street that we have people in Madrid atm asking about Falcao and Higuain Higuain is a great striker, would be v happy if this turned out to be true. Spike 12,049
Would bite Real Madrid's hand off for this one. I'd prefer him over practically anyone. I rate him really highly. REALLY.

Spike 12,049
Higher than David Villa now?Hmmm. It's close. Villa would probably be a better fit but Gonzalo is much younger and hasn't hit his peak yet. If they were both available for the same price, I'd go for Gonzalo. termninja 5,290
Higuain has hardly played this season is he injured or what?Mou prefers Benzema because he is involved more in the team play. Words has been out for some time that Gonzalo isn't happy about not playing regularly...
Corner 456
I would take Higuain over Falcao to be honest.
