Bud please read post 3 above you and tell me what you think yeah.

I will start this by saying that when I watched these 2 films I was very stoned. Not that heavy sink you in your chair stoned but the heady, sharp thinking, productive stoned that doesn't happen often.

Well we was sitting on the beach with a fire going and my friend had her laptop and said lets watch a film. OK says me.

The first one was Stranger Than Fiction https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0420223/

about a guy that begins hearing the narrator of the film who is actually a writer writing about him as some non fictional person!! VERY GOOD!!

The next one did my head in! Got me thinking very deep. Predestination https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2397535/?ref_=nv_sr_1  Thought the ending was going to be summet else but I wont give it away cause I really do recommend it stoned or not!! Please give it a looksee.

How far have you got in Robot? Watched it all? I've never actually thought about Mr. Robot being real and Elliot not, an interesting theory you got there. I would need to rewatch it with that in mind, but I can't be arsed lol... Maybe when dad pushed Elliot out the window, he actually died? And now it's cancer-sick Mr. Robot dealing with guilt and trying to set things straight by attempting to change the world? Sounds far-fetched to me tbh, I'm pretty certain Elliot is real, but you never know with this show do you.. And now I'm thinking it can't be because if Elliot died as a kid, him appearing as a grown man makes zero sense.

I've seen Stranger Than Fiction. Don't remember much, but I've rated it 7/10 in imdb, so I must have liked something in it :P I think it got a bit sad (or deep) at one point, no? It sure was a unique and interesting film, that much I remember.

Have you seen Click with Adam Sandler? It's also a pretty deepish comedy, makes you laugh and think and maybe even tear up a bit. If you haven't seen it, give it a watch if you are into those types of films.

Added Predestination to my watchlist, looks promising. Thanks.

Ive only seen the 1st season mate so far but have the 2/3 on disc to watch - along with several others. But I like watching seasons all in one sitting.

I like the prog because theres not many that can get you thinking and asking questions. Its a sod watching on my own cause I'm one of those that use someone to bounce questions off - know what I mean? Used to wind the hell up out of my Mrs lol

I understand yeah, it's always better to have someone to discuss with. I luckily got my friend into it, is nice watching and pondering it high together. :P  Make sure to watch the remaining seasons, shit gets batshit crazy on there... It's a shame they're doing only 1 more season, but I guess it's better leaving on a high than milking a dead cow. I think there it gets also pretty clear that Elliot is real, but fucking nuts.

I've talked to a lot of people that some would consider them in that way only to find they were very interesting to talk with.

Watched 2 good films last night.

Jack Black in The House with a clock in its walls. Very good but I think they might have rushed the ending and could have made it better https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2119543/

Ghost in the shell - great film and pretty obvious that something similar will happen in the future IMHO of course. And the absolutely delicious Scarlett Johansson (drool!!) is in it https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1219827/?ref_=nv_sr_1

MANDY

It's fucking cray cray

Esquire Number 1 film of 2018

https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/movies/g14465325/best-movies-of-2018/

The psychosexual hallucinatory heavy-metal grindhouse revenge saga of your cinematic dreams, Mandy is a midnight movie of mythic madness. Director Panos Cosmatos’s wickedly deviant and humorous follow-up to 2011’s Beyond the Black Rainbow concerns a woodsman named Red (Nicolas Cage) whose wife, Mandy (Andrea Riseborough), is taken hostage at their secluded forest home by cultists led by crazed guru Jeremiah Sand (Linus Roache).

After that situation ends in cataclysm, Red embarks on a rampage as trippy as it is brutal, as Cosmatos creates a pulpy atmosphere of pulsating LSD-fueled doom and gloom that envelops his protagonist as he descends into ever-more-depraved territory. Torture, mayhem, and shadowy supernatural fiends factor into this orgiastic pulp, which features—among its many euphorically insane sights—its hero lighting a cigarette from a flaming decapitated head, a boozy bathroom freak-out and the greatest big-screen chainsaw fight since 1986’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Hovering over the action like a wide-eyed goth specter, Riseborough proves an enchanting object of black-magic desire. A maniacal Cage is equally transfixing in a turn of fantastical, often silent ferocity that culminates in a triumphant smile designed—like the gonzo film itself—to haunt your nightmares.

I've used this site quite a bit if anyone is interested:

https://agoodmovietowatch.com/

It's not so current releases.  You can filter by mood or genre.  It's good if you like going in to a movie knowing very little about it.

Not something I've watched recently, but I really enjoyed "The Best Offer"

Gifted, as well

I'd recommend either for a lazy Sunday

Oh, and Wind River.  It's great

Do you have to pay for them? If so then i wont bother.

I'm a firm believer in torrents So Ive been active on torrent sites about 12 years now.

Putting music,TV,Films and all software onliine so its avaiable for amyone to use free.

If anyone uses places like PirateBay and you know how to maintain a 1 ratio then Ive got invites for you on the best private tracker there is.TorrentDay.  All the latest movies that hit the cinema (not a;ways the best quality of course as sometines they're hand hels cameras) But all the very latest TV/Bobie releases

https://td.findnemo.net/featured.php

Let me know and Ill sort it.

Wind River is on Netflix.  The others I watched via torrent (Wind River may well be as well, I haven't looked).  I use a program called Plex Media Server to watch the films.  The server is on my computer, the app is on my Apple TV (or whatever you want to use).  I just had 2 hard drives crash on my NAS (I only have redundancy for 1 drive :() so I lost a lot of my stuff.  I was able to make a back up of some of the harder to find stuff, but my library isn't what it used to be..

Never been near Netflix.

So which torrent site do you use?

I'm the same with HDDs. Had my main 2TB crash last year full of my records.and stuff Ive made in Photoshop over the years. Plus all the photos I had of my Mrs.

Ran recovery software for 3 days and only recovered 5GB.

So now I use 2 x 1TN externals i save to straight away.  Takes ages to upload my old 45s. Ive got about 15,000.

I've used a variety, but always come back to PirateBay since the others come and go.

I got a NAS, and it's been great.  I just had the unfortunate circumstance of having 2 of the 4 HDDs die at the same time.  I can handle 1, and just swap it out, but 2 crashed my volume.  It became read only and I was able to grab some stuff.  I lost a lot of my movies, but I was able to save all of my music.  I've had so many HDs go bad over the years (it happens to all of them eventually), that I finally decided to get something that allowed me to have some redundancy.  Despite what happened to me, I'd still recommend a NAS.

The lesson I learned was to buy hard drives from different vendors.  There's no rhyme or reason as to why some last longer than others, so when you buy from different dealers, you effectively get ones from different batches.  I did that, but bought 2 from 1 dealer and 2 from another.  My 2 failed as a pair.  Bad luck.

Never thought about those NAS before mate. Look great. Will def be looking into them more.

Yes Ive had a few crash too.

Strange but I only got into PCs aabout 12 years ago. I always hated them

My job was computers. Network Controller and Chift Leader of a large computer site. So as I worked every hour under the sun I didn't want to see another when I got home.

But me mate went travelling and asked me to look after his stuff which inclded a PC.

And within a couple of weeks I was addicted lol

Looking in to a NAS is a rabbit hole.  There's a lot out there, and it depends on what you want.  I went for a 4 bay one.  It uses a proprietary RAID system, but it pretty much mimics the popular ones anyway.  It gives me 1 drive of redundancy.  The mistake I made was getting a mid-powered one.  It's not powerful enough to transcode all kinds of video (it does some).  I should have either gotten something more powerful and left it running my media server (you can put the software right on it), or just gotten a less powerful one and saved some money.  Meh....

It's more expensive than just buying 2 drives and backing them up all the time.  So, it really depends on what you need it to do.

ALL Torrent sites are blocked by both Virgin and Sky here in UK but as I've told Sideshow Luiz I've never had a problem signing on to any torrent site either via mirror Url or a VPN. and as my PC is on 24/7 I'm always seeding and it has never affected me.

All the torrent upload groups like rarbg,EZTV,Torrenting,Legend etc all drop their stuff around the web after their own sites.

I started out on Darkside RG which was aXXos old base. That was the best site theres been. I was a pretty active uploader there at one time sharing all my rare soul torrents and software but after aXXo got busted and stopped alot of peeps left and tho its still open its dead quiet and hurts me to go there. I started learning Photoshop there till I opened my own site and all the graphics peeps came with me. Pissed off the Darkside admin as I was a Mod there. But my site became very busy and I was paying for everything myself. And when I took 18 months off to go travelling the admin I left in charge died and nobody told me. I came home to find it full of spammers and porn merchants so I closed shop. Bastards!

Have uploded to KAT,Demonoid,Torrenting,1337org,SceneTime,Fenopy,ExtraTorrent ,H33t etc but Torrentday is the best. Its well run and the admin, mods are very good at their jobs. And as its invites ownly and need to keep a 1 ratio theres no twats on there at all - maybe an over bloated ego or 2 but hey where doesn't!

TorrentLeech is also good, I might have some invites if anybody's interested. I struggle to maintain respectable ul/dl ratio on TorrentDay, nobody wants my seed :( But I think the period for how long something's been seeded also counts, even if no one's downloaded from it?

For public torrents the best search site is https://www.torrents.me - you can search all public torrent sites easily without having to go to each website separately.
