🇮🇹 Jorginho

The Balon d’Or It is an individual award so why do people think that even if Messi scores near 40 goals, carrying the worst Barcelona team of the last 15 years ultimately winning nothing that it makes a difference? Or if Lewandowski scores 40-50 goals and won 1 trophy, that again it makes a difference? It doesn’t. It never has. It never will. Or to be more accurate perhaps, not since Ronaldo and Messi started winning it because thats when their numbers became incredible and then football was moving more and more towards attacking stats dominating the sport and the these types of awards. Modric winning it was an absolute shocker to everybody.

It is impressive if those rankings are true, that Jorginho has made 5th and Kante 7th but the majority of other guys in that top 10 are attackers, the way football is so stat orientated was always going to mean that goal scorers will always be valued above midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers. Even if its not necessarily a fair reflection but thats why these level of attackers are so hard to find too because you don’t get many at this sort of level.

Again who knows if thats even accurate but if it is, I don’t think a lot of people will be shocked guys like Lewa, Messi, Benzema, Salah are above Jorgi and Ngolo.

fuck Pessi

sure, why not lewandowski with his only title the golden pineapple league.

make-up for the absolute robbery of last year's not being given out (and obviously to him)

Pessi at number 2 is fucking joke

Salah is only the best player (or close) THIS season, not for the whole time that this years award looks at

Benzema did win a trophy (UEFA Nations League and cannot be blamed for Frances failure at the Euros) and he absolutely is carrying RM on his back for the past year plus

Kante missed out when France fucked up the euros, same for Mbappe

Kante took votes from Jorginho

there were 4 legit candidates

Lewa

Jorginho (that pen miss at the euros and then Utaly not winning the nation's league hurt him)

Benz

Kante

I would have retro'd (crazy Covid calls for crazy actions) Lewa for last year's and given this years to Jorginho

so two awards

2020 retro Lewa

2021 order

Jorginho

Lewa

Kante

Benz

Salah atm is front runner for 2022, depends a lot on what Egypt does at AFCON and of course what Pool do in EPL and CL, plus he needs to score 40 to 45 to really lock it down

Benz has a shot too for 2022, same criteria as Salah, minus AFCON (obviously) same for Lewa, and others

One could argue that he was robbed of the award last year, after it got conveniently cancelled. Plus, he also broke Gerd Muller's 49-year record this year. He's a deserving winner really.

JORGINHO DESPERATE AFTER PENALTY MISS

https://football-italia.net/jorginho-desperate-after-penalty-miss/

epa09579553 Italy's Jorginho (L) shows his dejection after missing to score by penalty during the 2022 FIFA World Cup European qualifying Group C soccer match between Italy and Switzerland at the Olimpico stadium in Rome, Italy, 12 November 2021. EPA-EFE/ETTORE FERRARI

Italy star Jorginho looked absolutely devastated after missing a crucial penalty kick against Switzerland.

The former Napoli Regista turned up for a late spot-kick at the Stadio Olimpico but sent it over the bar.

Had he scored it, one point in the last group stage game against Northern Ireland would have been enough for Italy to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

The Chelsea playmaker missed the third penalty kick in a row for the Azzurri, the second one against Switzerland. The other one was against England in the penalty shootout of the UEFA Euro 2020 Final.

Jorginho looked absolutely distressed immediately after missing the spot-kick and a few minutes later, when the referee blew the final whistle.

Leonardo Bonucci tried to cheer him up, but the Juventus defender could do nothing to console his teammate.

Insane. Prior record was Lampard 2009/10, 9 pens scored in a season. Jorginho already reached that in half a season exactly

gives ppl penchester vibes but every single one of our pens was 100% stonewall. No diving no penandes cheating here

And what happened to jorginho?

Tuchel suddenly drop him in some consecutive mathes, because he change his strategy and team's setup without jorginho in his plan.

Or is he actually just not in a fit condition?

And play him ahead of who? Have you seen Kovacic play the last few games no? He has very very good since the Liverpool game. Yesterday he wasn’t quite as good but that can happen against a team like City. Then Kante when he’s even at 75% in these sort of games, is essential.

Easy, play all 3. That is what a good manager does. I think all 3 are one of our best players, easy decision when you have Sarr and Alonso in the starting lineup.
