Aesthetic Relic 301
Just broke on Sky Sports News...... :censored: Unbelievably pissed off.
Elliott 7
Well... that's what we get for treating him badly. Good luck to him. Him leaving today does not stop him being a Chelsea legend and I'll always have respect for the man.
.Cee 50
Oh, well... Hope we find a better replacement in terms of footballing knowledge, or if not someone as good as him. Good luck to him at WH, except when we meet them.
Aesthetic Relic 301
They're saying that he's handed in his resignation and that Chelsea havent given West Ham permission to talk to him. How does that work out?. If he's resigned surely he can do what ever the hell he wants? I do feel sorry for Clarke. He's given everything to the club and has always been someone the players and fans alike have been able to identify themselves with. He's Chelsea through and through. Good luck to him. Milan 17,956
"Chelsea Football Club can confirm that West Ham United have made an approach with regards to talking to Steve Clarke. They have not been given permission to talk to him. Steve Clarke has tendered his resignation as assistant first team coach. We have not accepted his resignation. Talks are continuing." chelseafc.com Edited September 12, 2008 by milan.cech
Elliott 7
Well it seems Clarke is still at the club then! I suspect he will leave eventually however, West Ham will probably have to pay us some money.
Fulham Broadway 17,312
The club have allegedly refused his resignation, but it's only a matter of time. Scolari was round his house last night asking him to stay apparently. He tried to leave before, after giving it all the Chelsea till I die bollocks, and to me with lampard etc it just proves that the only loyal ones to clubs are the fans Ok So West ham have Zola, and Clarke now. To quote Obama , you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

Fulham Broadway 17,312
Would you accept him back if and when he returns? I'd like to see Zola back, but the reality is how will they do ? Clarke can do one. I can remember when we were in love with Hollins, top player for us, came back as a fucking awful manager. Same with McCreadie. chrismada9 1,948
it's what Elliott said I agree with, "it's what we get for treating him so badly that he wants to leave"
EskWeston 696
When was Clarke treated badly? Was he treated badly because he wasn't offered the top job? I can't understand his reason for wanting to leave to do effectively the same job at West Ham.
zinctek 469
Chelsea seem to be falling apart at the seems. starts with jose and we had nothing but bad news. apart from Big phil and deco everything else about Chelsea in the paper is shit news for the fans and brilliant news for everyone else!!!! Is Big Phil still looking like a good thing? I'm just not so sure anymore. If he was so good for Chelsea why would someone who's spent 20 years at the club suddenly want out? Maybe Clarke agrees Scolari's appointment isnt in Chelsea's best interests and he just cant hang around while another manager cocks up again? warnie_666 1,081
it's what Elliott said I agree with, "it's what we get for treating him so badly that he wants to leave" First of all I am majorly pissed and gutted . This is the news I get to read the moment I wake up and that has spoilt my day already even before I cud brush my teeth. FUCKING HELL!!! Give the Club a BReak you guys.Clarkey is easily the highest paid assitant manager in the League. I dont understand why Clarke who has much more experience than Zola as an an assitant manager at the highest level would want to be an assistant to Zola who has just been an assitant for over a year and that to for Under 21s. ISNT THAT LIKE TREATING HIM BADLY? Had it been Chelsea people(including their own fans) would have slagged them for doing that and would have come up with Chelsea treated him badly. Oh yes..And I wouldnt have been this pissed had Steve Clarke been appointed as Manager(its understandable) but being an assitant again to someone who has hardly any experience of managing at top level, is ridiculous. That to after snubbing us. Edited September 12, 2008 by warnie_666
