pre injury (the Villarreal crazy bad one) he was in my top 5 young CBs on the planet

France has 4 (and all are right footers, which is what we need/will need) CBs I would  love to have

3  Sr team, 1 youth

William Saliba (impossible)
Jean-Clair Todibo
Mohamed Simakan

then a youth

Leny Yoro   (17yo, soon 18)

@Vesper if we were to get someone like Simakan into the club, would Colwill, Simakan, Badiashile be good enough as the starting CB's?

has it? disasi dont look that good, he'll be benched eventually

Fofana is an exceptionally better defender than him.

Disasi does have his aerial dominance and passing ability though that makes him valuable.

Both have their strengths.

He was instrumental in probably our best defenfesive display this season.

Except for Sanchez howler (nothing to do with him), Wolves had two shots from Larsen and Cuhna for the stats and that was that.

How does the higher-ups have the jobs that they do?

P.S. His topics is still in the "Out on loan". Took me a while to find it. 😅

Why we loaned him out is beyond me. Looked very comfortable all game, ok not perfect but still very very comfortable. Shambolic decision to loan him in the summer 👍

I read somewhere that Maresca finally said that board wanted to sold chalobah because of fpf

he is a yes man

we already knew that chalobha is good enough to be a solid squad option and far better than at least disasti and I think he is better than badiashile and he can play also as a right back

Anyone who is willing to play Sanchez as often despite signing 2 new GKs and having another 954 guys in that position on the books is obviously a yes man…

But yes your right, he should have been retained. Much better option than Tosin, Disasi & Badiashile. Sometimes better than Levi who has been up and down. Was so evident last season with Pochettino never mind now but yes, Maresca maybe should of fought harder if he really rated him.

what makes me sad is that he in the end of the season will leave because he is a pure profit player

Very sad to see all this with him

Yep still think its more than likely because he is profitable in their eyes. No injury crisis and he wouldn’t of been recalled. And we would likely still be worse off. I mean Trevors skillset and also versatility (has played as a CB, RB and DM in various spells at clubs) screams out very useful squad player, no?

For instance, was the same reason people were blowing up about Veiga “oh he can play as a 6, a CB and a LB” despite having probably never seen him play.

Can some one explain to me what “yes man” means? Because every single one of you when your at work does what your boss tells you to do or the owner that’s life, football mangers are an employee not the owner, so in that respect every single manger in the world is a yes man, 2 reasons managers get sacked

1 there are shit.

2 they don’t do as they are told.

To expect anything more than a “yes man” is delusional. If I turn up to work and my boss says right your on this site today and I simply say no wtf do you thinks going to happen?

Well football is a little different. If you know what you're doing as a coach/manager, you can get away with speaking your mind after around a half a season/season of decent results.  Or straight away if you have standing as a player. For instance, could you imagine what Conte would've done if Marina told him he had to keep Disaster over Trev as he was a profit player. He probably would've dropkicked her in the face.

However, this is probably also why the went for Enzo. Young manager who wasn't a name that they knew lacked recognition so would have to do as told.

Personally, I do not have a problem with Enzo apart from his inability to be proactive rather than reactive with his subs.

As for Trev, I am very happy to see him back. For around the third season in a row, he is going to have to go through the rigmarole of people at the club thinking he isn't good enough to then end up putting the best to second CB performances of the season. Although, that said, this also raises the question of who is evaluating our defensive players (and GK's.)
