LAM09 7,056
What constant delays? There was the uncertainty under Sarri last season over his playing time and it was only last week that we finally got Lampard in. If the discussion is to make any progress, it would likely happen over the coming days/weeks. I doubt the board would have remained defiant against Bayern's interest if there was no chance of convincing CHO to stay. Otherwise, they would look like an absolute fool by the end of it.He was a starter under Sarri before he got injured and the moment Hazard agreed to move on, his supposed concern became a non-issue.Do you think the club haven't been in talks about a new contract for months? They aren't the ones who's gonna pick him. And given we only appointed Lampard last Thursday, the slow progress is understandable. Recent reports suggest it's heading in a positive direction. Reassurances of what? He certainly can't expect guarantees of being a starter in his current predicament, so his only worry should be a steady recover right now. Let's not forget Sarri only really gave him playing time when the Bayern interest came and the outside pressure cranked up later in the season. And I'm sure CHO will also want to see where he fits into Lampard's thinking long term as well.

OneMoSalah 8,886
Thinking about it, It will either boil down to one of two things. Playing time (which he will get more here than at Bayern who still want him) or money, which I can see being more likely now. If he rejects an offer it is more likely to be a financial issue as in my eyes now, he is probably going to be odds on to start most weeks if hes fully recovered with Eden being is gone and not being able to move for anyone. All the talk of 100k a week for someone yet to play 50 games professionally is a bit ridiculous though. Still think Ruben getting 120k a week is a wee bit mad too although a new deal was deserved but then again at least we arent dishing out 250k a week to the likes of Rashford or more to Pogba, Sanchez etc like United. Again think we have to be wary with some of these guys coming through, cant afford to spoil them too soon with huge huge paying contracts based of 15 games etc.

But how much playing time is the question here, no? Anyway, for all we know, he probably agreed to sign a new contract and it'll be announced in the coming weeks and we're sitting here debating this like idiots! We'll find out soon enough where his head is at. That's what a forum is for, after all. [emoji1]

robsblubot 3,595
it is indeed only a matter of playing time, minutes as they say. He’s just not sure if minutes in London or in Munich... the wes

Pizy 18,918
Definitely is pretty concerning that he hasn't signed a new contract yet. Guess he's waiting to see how much he plays this season before committing? Or he's still just hell bent on Bayern no matter what. Supermonkey92 1,428
Fuck him if he doesn't sign by September. He's too entitled. Obviously potential to be a great player but it's not even set in stone. He's not an Mbappe, Neymar or Hazard level player. He could end up around Rashford/Zaha level. Good player but not worth the fucking hassle. If the guy wants to leave knowing he's been looked at as a damn Prince by the club then he has no loyalty, no fucks given to the club. Or he's stupid. Or his ego is huge. Or all of the above. Vesper and bigbluewillie
Jase 43,479
1. TBF, the story above is reported by Daily Mail, aka Daily Fail. 2. We only have 4 wingers right now, including CHO. We aren't going to sell him and leave ourselves short with the ongoing transfer ban. Would be stupid. 3. Pretty sure Hasan Salihamidzic, Bayern's sporting director, is the one who's desperate to make his mark and sign him as opposed to Rummenigge and/or Hoeness the ones being keen. LAM09 7,056
I've said for some time, there's more to this than meets the eye. Someone that has effectively done nothing shouldn't be toying around for demands. If he hasn't signed by the start of the season, I can see the club selling before the German window closes. Vesper 30,185
I would roll the dice at this point IF, after we flat out call him in and demand an answer for if he is going to sign or not. IF he refuses to answer or saws no tell Bayern £50m and he is yours tomorrow take that £50 and use it as a small part to cut a deal with PSG to buy Mbappe next year if that falls through (it 90% will, grrr) then go to Barca and do the same for Dembele for next year Demebele and Pulisic were magic together for Dortmund Dembele is streets ahead of CHO Lampard can work with Dembele and bring out his best
