Hate to say this, but we really miss a Costa type to pressurise defenders. Morata played well enough, but he doesn't instill fear into defences like Costa did. Pedro very poor today, and I was impressed by Bakayoko when he came on. He gave away silly frees, but he will learn, and become a very good acquisition for us. I think we need to change our style of play this season as Morata will need help up front. He needs a player to play off, and hopefully thats Hazard.

Let's face it.
Conte and the board made a mess out of the Costa affair.
Own goal of the century.
Morata was a life long sub at Madrid - unlike Pedro who was always a first squad player for Barcelona before biteman took his place.
Morata as well as James will prove failures. The chances of it not happening are 1%.

In ALL games against big teams we have to start with our best possible players. If Conte wants to rotate or experiment do it against sides we're vastly superior to like Forest in midweek. We cannot play Cesc and Kante in a midfield 2 against sides that are great technically and can pop the ball around comfortably. Why all of us can see that but Conte can't is baffling.

We also see that we need one more special attacking player that's a level above Pedro and Willian. Too many times they just can't cut it. They're solid, 7/10 players but we need another on or near Hazards level if we want to compete against the best sides in Europe.

Luckily this result won't hurt much because a few of our rivals are also struggling. But damn, I fear for us against City/United/Atleti/Roma. We need to grow some balls and toughen up. Know when we can assert ourselves.

Like the way he pressurized PSG's defence 2 years in a row? Give me a break!

3 years in a row.
They beat us decisively only once but with a much more expensive squad now.
Costa is not the type liked by the people with artistic flavour. Gert Muller was n't either. But you need a Lewandovski to replace a Gert Muller and be happy.

Not a criticism on Morata but this!

Would Diego have fared better today? Maybe. But as I said above, we didn't help Morata or play to his abilities at all. He's a striker who thrives running in to space after a lay off, running the channels, and playing into his feet. All we did today is lob soft balls and hoped he could latch on. Hopeless in those circumstances.

Maybe, maybe not. Point is we needed someone to take the game by the scruff of the neck for us. With Costa, we could play to his abilities or he can do something and score out of nothing.

Did we play to his strength for that West Brom goal last season? No. That 4th goal against Stoke last year is also another example.

Nah if you want to play to strength of morata then we should change the system. In this system, his first job is to be able to win the battle against opp cb and do layoff. He still struggle big time with the physicality of epl

Massive overreaction here. 0-0 against a direct rival is a good result in my book. Nothing pretty from either side but it's a point gained rather than two lost. Especially given the fixture list we've had and injuries.

Two points dropped because we won this last season. That's the best way to target a title winning pace.

Only way to make up for it is winning at the Emirates.

Luiz was the best player on the pitch bar that stupid red card incident. He has Lacazette in his back pocket and was just a beast on the pitch. Now he is out against City in that crucial game end of the month. Anyway, some may see as points lost. I am just glad we did not crumble after that red.

Which he did well in previous games. We played the ball into his feet in previous games, he controlled it nicely, and payed it off to a teammate. Today was all in the air it seemed like.

Arsenal will do well to finish sixth.
If they are "direct rivals" what can be said about City-Utd ?

Nah I don't think he has played well personally other than Burnley game. Yes he has scored and assisted 4 goals but he has never won physical battle and he keep losing the ball whenever he is pushed and kicked fpfrom behind which is typical in epl
