Thor 2,704
Morata is the epitome of a "one trick pony", which isn't bad but as Chelsea FC, our main striker needs to be more than that. Having spunked 60m on a player, you would expect the player to be more than a "one trick pony". Giroud does everything better, except his lack of pace. Even yesterday in the first half, you saw that control and volley shot from Giroud, which was a miss but he used a sublime technique to get that shot away, which is something Morata is poor at. Lol he missed the ball the first time and you're giving him credit for amazing control. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Giroud had a very average day apart from the goal. No one will bother to mention the chances he butchered, or the ones he failed in creating due to his lack of pace. I'm not bashing Morata at all. I think he was decent when he came on. He obviously offers something differemt to Giroud which was why we got Giroud in the first place but in no way can I accept that Morata was better than Giroud vs Southampton at Wembley. Morata could only dream of using his feet like Giroud did to get the crucial first goal. The Skipper

Nobody hates that North London club more than me and I do love seeing them do really bad but it doesn't ever stop me giving credit where its due, I dont like Vinegar tits but what he did with that club at their height was amazing. When a player joins us no matter who it is or where from that lad is Chelsea and I'll shout for him like some loony till its obvious hes a fuckup. Mufassir08 2,400
In no way should Morata be sold but Baka? Trade him for a pack of crisps. Salah and KDB were always seen as high potential players who never got a chance at this club. Baka has been given a lot of chances and he has shown absolutely nothing to suggest that he could be worth anything more to this club than a mere squad player. I'd happily ship him off this summer. Ironic that we sold player like KDB so soon but now don't want to repeat that mistake so we're willing to hold onto a player with zero technique like Baka As long as we sign somebody like Ndombele or Seri, I couldn't care less whether Baka stays or goes. Unionjack 7,531
Some things really do wind me up. We just paid out wads of millions for Morata and now Juve think they can come and take him on loan! Why cant we ever manage to get deals like this? Ewnt some guy for awhile, see if he nakes a go of it in PL and buy him IF he does. Juve are either cheeky cunts or we need to try it ourselves. Jase 43,479
Alice Campello, Morata's wife: Have you seen the attitude you have on the pitch? Morata: The pain was unbearable, I had to inject myself two or three times a day Morata's interview with Marca. Good stuff. And this one in particular sticks out... Quote What do you think about your future at Chelsea? "I now know what the Premier League is like and what the referees are like. I'm starting to befriend them now in the final stretch of the season because it's the only way for them to call more fouls for you. In the first half of the season it was a crazy thing. I protested a lot. One of them even told me that he knew it was a foul, but that he wasn't going to call it for me. This is the style of the Premier League and the likable one ends up being chosen." 11Drogba

oldportblue 547
would we really cut ties with a 60-70M pounds player (depending on how add-ons are calculated) after only one season? I doubt it, personally... unless morata has explicitly stated he wants to leave that is Not saying the same thing will happen again but drogba had an average first season with us and ended up being one of our top 3 players of all time so I would give morata more time for sure... Superblue 6,372
I would definitely give him next season to find his best for us. He has had to adapt to the Premier League and being the leading striker at a top club, shouldering all the responsibility which comes with that. I believe we'll see his best potentially next season when somebody like Giroud can not only push him for a starting spot but also take some of the burden off so he doesn't get burnt out like he did this season. His petulant attitude seems to have improved a lot over recent weeks and he does look like he's finally understanding and adapting his game to the demands of our league. He's saying all the right things too, but behind the scenes he has to be fully committed. If he does want to move back to Italy or Spain then I would also be just as inclined to let him leave as his heart clearly won't be fully into it. To be honest too, I think the best thing for him would be to miss out on Spain's squad. If he has the right attitude and application, it will not only give him a summer's rest but should also ignite an extra sense of determination to better himself next season. Pizy 18,909
Yeah, I can't imagine any scenario in which we sell him after one season. Think he'll improve massively for us next season.
manpe 10,861
Despite an underwhelming season overall, I would give him at least one more season for sure. It has been full of challenges for him. In the beginning he showed promising signs, he fell off after his injury and probably had to play through pain for some time. The atmosphere in the team was really bad also for a long time, it surely affected him and everybody else. Let him have a full summer with us, let him start on a clean slate without all those missed sitters haunting him in the back of his head. We shouldn't make the mistake of discarding clearly talented players after a short period, we should have learned that from the past. Besides, what are we gonna do if we sell him? It means we would need to sign yet another striker unless the club wants to go forward with Giroud and Batshuayi. I simply cannot trust the club to pull off a good signing, a better one than Morata at least. Who'd be available anyway? Maybe Belotti, Icardi or Benzema. I say leave our strikers alone, we have a good set on our hands already. We need to focus on fixing our midfield, that should be priority nr. 1.
