I think that should settle it. Not gonna improve. And even if he were to go on a purple patch like in his first 10 league games here we knew his confidence would just drop when it matters and he would let us down. Just like Torres, every ball into him is a turnover.

That is the main problem. He has no first touch, he cant finish chances, he cant hold up play so that Chelsea can sustain attacks in the danger area. Falling like a baby every goddamn time, He's such a liability, its unreal.

As strange as this sounds his missed chances is the one reason i haven't totally given up on Morata yet, to constantly get into those positions is a skill in itself and that's why i simply cannot put him on the same level as Torres, El Nino just stood static most of the time and we were basically playing with ten men and a stranger up top doing his own thing.

How many times on average in say 5 games did Torres get a genuine chance of a goal? 3 maybe 4 at most, Morata beats that number in 20 minutes vs PAOK alone. As much as Morata frustrates me he doesn't come close to Torres in shitness in my opinion.

As far as the bolded line goes, this might prove to be an unpopular opinion but we really missed a trick not going for Lacazette.

He’s scored like 5 goals in the whole of 2018, that’s Torres-esque form. He’s hitting that level consistently now. Terrible performance today.

I disagree. I think he has very good technique. It’s his physique that lets him down esp in tough games.

I was expecting him to work hard and bulk up a bit. I mean he is young enough to do that, but it does not seem is very dedicated guy either. Does not look like he can turn it around here. He needs to move to a less physical league.

He needs two, three touches to get control of the ball. That is average technique at best not Lukaku level bad, but average. It's also why he rarely gives one touch passes to Hazard because he cant even control the ball well enough to pull it off like Giroud does.

I don’t deny they were poor touches. He was under pressure at all times, with a guy breathing down his neck. Lukaku imo has much inferior technique, but because he’s stronger, he manages to find spaces more easily (not lying on the ground as much either). In empty spaces it is easier to pick a pass or take shot.

either way, it does not look like morata has the drive to turn it around. He looks the same as before and a bit disinterested at that.

Both Morata and Lukaku are below what you expect from a striker. Just a big fish in small pond type of strikers. They arent big players.

Both Chelsea and United shoot themselves in the leg when paying 70m each on those two.

Not that there are many better options, but still.

He’s got worse technique than I did when I was 12, and no I didn’t play professionally.

Hazard does not trust him anymore. I understand Hazard. Hazard wants to play with Giroud. I understand Hazard again.

Watching this video does show that hazard doesnt trust Morata with the ball we can't continue on with this we need to get the funds up and buy a new striker in January

It's funny how perceptions go, I think aubameyang and Lacazette are essentially at the same level of Morata: good players, not great players.

LOLOL

you are having a laugh??

they are both miles beyond Morata

Alexandre Lacazette

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (31 goals in 38 games last year)

Incredible. Throughout the video of all Hazard's touches in the match, he only passed the ball to morata once. The moment Giroud comes on, you see the link up between them. Hazard is smart enough to know that morata will fall to the ground and lose the ball anytime he passes to him. Morata is truly the reason why Hazard didn't play well.

He's been here for almost a 1 yr and half & has done nothing to address that. No intention of bettering himself, so give him the easy life back in Spain.
