I'm struggling to defend him right now. That being said, I'm incredibly angry and frustrated. 

 

He is so fucking good at driving forward with the ball, but how is he so shit defensively? I couldn't possibly be any bewildered by what is clearly a talented player. He has the intelligence of a dead pigeon.

He really is starting to wear my patience thin as well. Matic had a shocker for United the other week but I'd take him back without a doubt in his place. It seems a long time since Baka put in a good performance. The United game probably wasnt that long ago but that was last time he impressed me.

Yes I think that's something blatantly obvious that you're missing, he is so very good at driving forward with the ball, but the issue is that then he can't make a simple, straight 10-yard pass. So frustrating.

I´m actually missing Matic. He is a one-dimensional player, but he could win the ball from the opponent atleast and most of the time he was able to pick a pass.

This is 100% a Conte signing because he keeps giving him opportunities. Look at Conte's treatment of Batshuayi; that's how he would have treated Bakayoko if it was a club signing.

If Bakayoko wasn't his man he'd have made an example out of him a long time ago. But he has to save face. He can't ask for even more players whilst not using the donkeys he has already forced the club to sign.

I don't know, man. I must be watching a different Bakayoko. The one I've seen has zero quality on or off the ball.

What driving runs are you talking about? Whenever he gets the ball he gets rid of it with the safest pass, then goes back into hiding and tries to avoid the play. He never does anything progressive. The Bakayoko I'm watching is scared, so out of his depth, slow and weak. Today he reminded me of an amateur among pros wondering what the fuck he was doing there.

Another woeful performance. Trying to be patient with the guy but he offers nothing of substance. Doesn't offer goals, quesitonable positional sense, mediocre passing, cumbersome, slow and sluggish. He'll never be a goalscorer. I just don't see his upside. Just a pointless entity in midfield. But he's apparently Conte's prized signing so he starts all the important games over a more deserving player in Drinkwater.

It's the biggest problem i have with him. I knew he was limited technique wise but i though he was gonna be a lot better defensively. I though he was gonna be a more mobile defensive partner for Kante. 

He just completely unaware of what's going on behind him. The amount of times Ozil and Sanchez were able to drop off  and pick up the ball behind him was just ridiculous.

while I agree with your view of baka, my expectations were very different as I thought we already had a player capable of breaking up play - and a darn good one at that.

Now, I'm actually confused with what Chelsea (and Conte) thought, because we often see him deployed in a more advanced position, which is frankly a waste of space.
