JDY 1,290
Are Sky just saying £32m to cover themselves for saying the £29m was nonsense the other day?

Also whilst juve still have pogba & trying to get higuain they simply cannot afford him. I can see mikel being pushed out of the door before matic. I've just read some rumours. I don't know how much Matic would cost, ~30 mil. should be possible for Juve, imo. We'll see.

Under Conte he'll run the ground but he's got the stamina (I pray for no knee injuries). So a striker and a midfielder. Address the issue of defence now perhaps.. Is the fear of injury your concerns? I was thinking about it earlier when watching clips of him. The speed of which he operates at will surely have an affect on him at some point!

Kante makes up for the lack of dynamism Matic displays and lack of defensive prowess Fabregas has. It could work very well.

Oh, what about all their signings so far then? Mkhitaryan, Zlatan and Bailly all left from clubs qualified to the CL to join them, yet somehow that's a reasonable step up for these players but Kante's move isn't? You just couldn't make it up, people really are dumb. Hahah, i saw one spurs fan who is so butthurt about kante joining chelsea that he now reatweeting every tweet by chelsea fan where they say that chelsea need to sign wanyama and he says that kante is bad player

I know as chelsea fans we are used to 1 up top and have been for over ten years, but just as fabregas needs those 2 to play at his best I think Costa would be magnificent with a partner. Anyway, here's the bottom line - we have options! Fabregas or no fabregas, midfield 3 or 2, 1 striker or 2. Conte has options and that's when chelsea are devastating over 38 games. Blow some teams away, grind out some wins and neutralise others. It helps to have the child of Einstein and Al pacino that is conte ofcourse. The Skipper 20,609
This guy is easily the best ball winning midfielder in the PL. His anticipation is outstanding. One of the reasons Leicester scored vital goals was due to Kante nicking the ball in moments where the opposition thought they were comfortable in possession and setting up great counter attacking possibilities. He's going to be massive in the big games.

Kanté and Matic doing the "dirty work" with Fabregas being allowed to do his magic without pressure and very little defensive responsibilities doesn't sound that bad to me. We actually have options to play differently as the situation requires, without compromising quality too. If Matic regains form our midfield isn't too bad actually. We need to ship out Oscar and attain a better player and I'd be very happy with our midfield.
