Muzchap 8,966
Just ban him or let him go already. Why waste time?Actually, from the FA's perspective they think it's a smart move - let yesterdays stories turn into 'chip wrapping' - put a bit of breathing space and then make a decision. My personal opinion - the longer this goes on, the more chance JT has of escaping severe punishment. With the huge media circus post trial - it would have been so easy for the FA to get caught up in it and dish out a hefty suspension. The fact that they are taking time leads me to 'believe' (please God), that they will be rational about it and understand that a 3 game ban would more than suffice, if they felt compelled to find JT guilty, or they may just issue a 'fine' for bringing the game into disrepute - I wouldn't be surprised to see the latter, so it removes the whole 'racism' row from proceedings and just focuses on what the FA allege to be 'unprofessional/unsporting like conduct'...I pray for sanity in a crazy world! capriccioso 2,545
It was a manic decision to strip him of the captaincy when it was clear after the first time he was stripped that Terry is by far the best leader in England. Gerrard and Ferdinand were pretty shit as captains. Their personal form suffered, as well.
Jase 43,479
Bobby Zamora on Terry. Fair play.http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/911927-bobby-zamora-john-terrys-a-great-friend-and-ill-shake-his-hand?ITO=socialnet-twitter-buttonTomorrow's tie will be the first time the two clubs have met since Terry was found not guilty of racially abusing Hoops defender Anton Ferdinand in the corresponding fixture last October. The two clubs are currently in talks about how to handle the handshake ritual, with it being cancelled when they met at Stamford Bridge last season.Despite the result of the case heard at Westminster Magistrates Court in July, Ferdinand is unlikely to be shaking Terry's hand if the pre-match tradition goes ahead and has also suggested he will be ignoring Chelsea's Ashley Cole, who appeared as a character witness for his team-mate.But Hoops forward Bobby Zamora, who only joined the club in January after the controversy started, says he has no intention of not shaking hands with Terry, who he played alongside as a schoolboy.I've known John Terry for years and he's a very good friend of mine, he said.We grew up together and of course I'll shake his hand if he's playing on Saturday. All this stuff happened a long time before I joined QPR, I came in as an outsider to it and I won't be paying attention to any of it.And the former Fulham striker says he is expecting a to have a tough time of it tomorrow against Terry.John is a very good player and it's going to be a real battle between us. I'm sure it's not going to be an enjoyable game with him coming through the back and smashing the life out of me.But that's what he's been like ever since we played together in Barking for Senrab when we were 13 along with Ledley King, Paul Konchesky and Jlloyd Samuel. My abiding image of JT then was a box-to-box midfielder with a curtains haircut, smashing in headers from corners.‘We've stayed in touch ever since and for me this game will simply be a case of getting out there, doing my job and getting points on the board for QPR. butchercoat 60
RDM called it right yesterday when he told the media that until they stopped making a song and a dance over it then the issue would not go away. I agree that Ferdinand senior is the driving force behind this. He hasn't got over losing the armband to a better man.

KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
JT was as much at fault as Mikel for Juve's 2nd goal. Too often our defenders are failing miserably at playing the offside trap...
BOSS 372
Would prefer Cahill over him, these last years he makes lots of mistakes. At Camp Nou he kicked a guy, at Anfield he had an horror performance and today he had a ugly performance aswell. I think RDM fears to drop him and Lampard aswell but you have to accept that they're not the same anymore.
CHOULO19 24,332
Sometimes I am genuinely stunned that a defender of his caliber is capable of making such amateur mistakes. Terrible terrible decision to step up for the second goal.

Terrible terrible decision to step up for the second goal.He has changed he used to be one of the best if not the best but you can see that he is not motivated enough as he has already won the UCL. People get old man thats it. He is one of my fav players alongside Lampard and Drogba but you have to admit that he has changed.
Madmax 9,219
Sometimes I am genuinely stunned that a defender of his caliber is capable of making such amateur mistakes. Terrible terrible decision to step up for the second goal. Not just the instance of the second goal, he was all over the shop for much of the evening. In the first half when Ivanovic misplaces the ball straight to a Juventus player, he fails to do anything decisive in either delaying the break or regaining posession, then meekly turns his back to goal while the ball's played past him and into the area Ashley Cole has vacated, fortunately Vucinic shoots wide. Again, for the first goal, dives in without bothering to accost Vidal or put any pressure on him. Really put to shame by his opposite number in Chiellini who was absolutely fantastic all night.
