Jase 43,479
Mourinho on why he took Terry off at HT...http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2015/08/final-whistle-verdict--man-city-away.htmlHe explained why John Terry was replaced by Kurt Zouma at half-timeโI had to decide on John or Cahill because Zouma is the fastest player we have in our defensive line. When you are going to play with a high block and you are asking your players to do that, the fastest player has to be on the pitch.โThe point was not to bring John out but to bring Zouma in. I wanted to have my fastest player on the pitch and not on the bench because I knew they would play counter attack and long balls into Aguero. I knew I wanted my team to be dominant and to play in the opposition half.โIโm the one that plays John every game, made him captain, brought him back from a difficult situation with other managers. Iโm the one who has the right to look at the game and say I want Zouma on the pitch. I was losing 1-0, in minute 35 I was trying to anticipate what I was going to say to the players, and ask the players at half-time, and immediately I had Zouma warming up because it was clear to me he had to play.โ mediator and yuvala

Styles 9,790
Indirectly, Mourinho is basically saying Terry is holding us back from playing a high line. There was nothing indirect about it: he said it loud and clear. I knew I wanted my team to be dominant and to play in the opposition half.We can't be dominant and play in the opposition half AGAINST GOOD TEAM AND FORWARDS with such a slow CB. This is why we park the bus and camp inside our own defensive third against good teams. Blue-in-me-Veins and kellzfresh

But otherwise, you're pretty much spot on.

bluesman2610 1,417
I said this a few days ago and people were cutting me up for not backing JT. Like everyone else I love the guy he's been heart and soul of this team for many years but if we want to evolve into an elite team on the continent we need to replace sooner rather than later. mediator 2,026
He should stay in the squad next season, as a locker room leader and as a veteran player (4th CB).His experience is still huge for Zouma (and Stones?) yuvala

Pizy 18,916
When he comes outside of our penalty area in defensive situations he looks like I would if I pulled on a Chelsea shirt, i.e. a fish out of water. He looked like an old man when he came out to defend Silva before the Agรผero goal I think it was.Still our best CB but a part of me is glad Josรฉ demonstrated today that even our legendary captain isn't invincible and exempt from getting benched. It also means that if we get Stones, JT isn't the one nailed on to be his defensive partner.

termninja 5,290
But from what I've read on here it's a replacement for Cahill and not JohnAw come on, our team is lead by world experts, not talkchelsea members. Jose knows how often Terry takes a crapper and what color is it! And of course everyone at the club is aware how old is Terry and how important it is to get a replacement. We tried Varane before, then failed. Now it's Stones and if we fail, we'll return next year with more money and determination. iseah100
