Get Emanalo Sacked

I hope Conte got the green light to bring in his own director. If he's being asked to come in and coach up "Babas, Hectors and Papys" thrown at him, he should pass on the job. The Pato signing was the icing on the cake that this club board is lost at sea.

Good. Send the "individual" back to women football.

So it's official, Sabatini will leave Roma in the summer. But what next? I've seen different Italian outlets linking him to Bologna (with Pantaleo Corvino going the other way). Also did Walter Sabatini really mean what he said last night, that he will definitely not come to England because his English is poor? Was he serious or was he joking? Because I've seen different quotes on the exact same subject, others made me think he's joking & laughing, others that he's not considering an offer from England at this point.

What do you think, will he rest in Italy afterall or choose something new abroad? Is his relationship with Conte close enough to surpass the language barrier and come to Chelsea and help him in what is an important summer in terms of arrivals & departures?

Difficult to say, from what i read in Italian newspapers he said, "No, my english isn't good." and added "This isn't the moment to talk about my future." I don't think he was joking about anything at that moment as it was a sensible announcement to make, and already pissed off Spalletti.
The most reliable papers are linking him to Bologna and Chelsea is mentioned as an afterthought.

I think he will need some convincing to lure him here, and having Conte as manager could play a big role in that.
It's too early to say anyway, it could go either way.

And Marina.

Since she took over, three windows passed.

Now just take a fucking look at last three transfer windows, what a disaster of a transfers were made.

Wouldnt mind if Conte brings all damn squad with him that brought Pogba, Tevez, Pirlo, Vidal for less than what we paid for Cuadrado. Let that sink in.

Marina is Roman's bird. You have to get rid Roman first before Marina.

its funny how quickly Roman fires managers, but keeps some board members even though they are doing far worse job.

Mike Emanalo needs to be replaced if the club wants to fulfill their goal of becoming a staple of the elite clubs in the world. H

I have an unusual take on this but, by way of background, I'd like to remind everyone of a couple of things and tell people something about one of my attitudes, an attitude I suspect is shared by all of us who use this site.

1) Thirteen years ago Bruce Buck told us that Roman was in love with football, that he had a database of information about thousands of players, and that if you named any footballer Roman would be able to tell you all about that individual. My take, then and now, is that the database could only have been Football Manager because Roman would have had to employ hundreds of people to put it together independently and that would have made no sense.

2) Twelve years ago, asked if the manager had control of transfers, Peter Kenyon tried hard to avoid being clear but gave away a lot when he said it came down to group input from a number of people. The clear inference I took was that all our suspicions were right and that Roman was picking some of the transfer targets.

3) If I had Roman's dosh I would 100% have tried to buy Chelsea and, if I had succeeded, I would 100% have insisted on having the final say on player recruitment. Any manager who could not accept that would not have gotten the gig.

My unusual take is more of a speculation really. Is Michael Emenalo actually a cover for Roman? Is Roman adding 'projects' to the squad and allowing the world to believe that they are being selected by Emenalo?

Emanalo and the board already have Contes transfers lined up for next season. In the light of Baba and Papa, we are signing an African from the Slovakian league div 3 called ''Haha'' who will be immediately loaned out, to Rotherham.

A 38 year old striker from the MLS even though he will fail the medical, and two unknowns to be immediately loaned to Vitesse.

Conte is said to be ''delighted'' , but close sources say the opposite, and that he is ''well fucked off'' about it.

Conte will grit his teeth, take the reputed £12 million, and then succumb to the revolving door.

Just thought I'd pop this little piece by Martin Samuel of the Daily Mail in here...

Anyone who has seen The Sopranos will recognise the symbolism of the ducks that brought the anguished Tony happiness by settling in his swimming pool and, just as suddenly, flew away.

So what are we to make of Pato, Chelsea’s duck, who arrived in the January transfer window and may now leave without playing a game for the club?

Most likely, in this fascinating saga, he represents a recruitment policy that is in utter disarray, under the stewardship of the mystifyingly over-promoted Michael Emenalo.

No wonder prospective manager Antonio Conte wants his own man in the role, Walter Sabatini, the current sporting director of Roma.

Emenalo may have a service to perform in player development, even player sales, but if Chelsea want to mirror the advancement Tottenham have made under Mauricio Pochettino they will know that, often, the best recruitment executives are as close to the manager as they are to the boardroom.

Conte needs an ally who can deliver what he wants — not another series of riddles.

No.

That's either the succinct response of someone in a position to know the truth of it, or else it is absolutely as valid a speculation as any other. If the former then I understand you not wanting to say any more and risk giving your identity away, but I appreciate the information all the same. If the latter then I'd enjoy reading more about why you think that.

Okay, I apologise. I can't definitively say "No". But given the lack of any real evidence to the contrary I'll revise my answer to "Probably not, no". And since when has the burden of proof shifted from the conspiracy theorist to the detractor? "No" is a safer bet than what you're proposing.

And to what end really? The club could easily go about its business without having an individual to put focus on. And why would Roman build this idiot up to be the fall guy and the answer to questions that he has absolutely no obligation to answer?

But who knows, I guess. Maybe the amount of duds we've brought in these last few windows can be directly attributed to an otherwise busy oil magnate with the bulk of his attention being directed elsewhere whilst he also tries to juggle the role of football manager. Or, and perhaps much more likely, he just employed a wholly under-qualified incompetent to do the job for him.
