Joe Cole on the right, Malouda and Zhirkov on the left. I remember Joe Cole also saying he wants to play more central this season aswell or was I just dreaming?

Doesn't matter where Joe plays, he's lethal, he played central at West Ham in his early years, and central when we first signed for us.

Joe's also unfortunatly always injured lol. I heard that Zhirkov's medical was to be on Saturday (yesterday), and he would be announced and join up with some of the players for pre season training on Monday. I also think its good that Turnbull and Sturridge are joining up with the FIRST TEAM for training on Monday. For Turnbull its expected, but it looks like we are really going to give Sturridge his chance in the first team instead of reserves...Good stuff =]

Yuri Zhirkov has flown to London to undergo a medical ahead of his £18million move to Chelsea, according to reports in his native Russia.

The CSKA Moscow winger has been rumoured to be close to joining the Blues all summer but it now appears likely that he will be unveiled as manager Carlo Ancelotti's first signing next week.

The 25-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the past, is thought to be the subject of an £18million fee and will negotiate personal terms once his medical is complete.

The Russian daily newspaper Sport Express revealed that Zhirkov had left his homeland to board a plane destined for London earlier on Sunday.

As of yet there has been no confirmation from either club but Sport Express claim that CSKA president Eugene Giner confirmed that the Russian international was close to joining the Blues.

i think it will be completed tomorrow evening if he has just flown in. he will probably do the medical tomorrow which will take most of the day then agree personal terms. the fee has already been agreed.(£18 million)

I read his having his medical today and would be revealed either Monday or Wednesday. Very good addition to the squad.

it should be tommorow, everythings done apart from the medical and personal terms. a medical is a couple hours and personal terms take no time.
