The Mourinho Thread

You may need a brain.

Financed by Abramovich yes, but money cant assure success, look at City, they spend that much for nothing, Mourinho build the winning mentality, made us win titles, and that is priceless.

Look at fucking PSG. A squad worth 100-300 million lost the title last year to Montpelier, a squad worth a total of 15mill.

The only interesting part of you message.

We are in 2013 and Chelsea live in a completely different world now, the club need mister Mourinho because of his magnificent capacities to win trophies and move the club forward, that is what really matter no ? :)

The job is to win trophies, but it's the way we need to do it that's changed. He needs to develop young players and use them and if he can't do that then he's the wrong guy for us.

So, for you we won the Premier League twice by playing a "not beatiful football" ?

And now there in UCL quarters and first place in their league.

Also, I'm pretty sure their transfer fee from last year was mostly on Pastore...

Mourinho didn't leave. Mourinho was sacked. There's a difference. He didn't just get up and leave CFC like he did with Inter or Porto. That's the main difference. Mourinho is also clearly not the same person as he was back 10 years ago - he doesn't need to go around Europe's top leagues and win every title there anymore - he's already done all of that.

This is another, different challenge for Mourinho - the challenge to nurture and bring through a young side with bags of potential. - one I think he'll relish.

Why do you think he cares for that.

He doesn't do that at Real, he didn't do that at Inter and he sure didn't do that at Chelsea.

Mou in London

José Mourinho is in London with his family making the most of Real Madrid's free weekend. The Portuguese coach travelled to the capital after attending the inauguration of an exhibition in Portugal on Saturday, commemorating his life and career. Mou's presence in London has triggered rumour-mongering on social media.

Oh dear, you're really bad when you express yourself using a keyboard.I make Mourinho bigger than the club ? I want instant succes, thats true, I want my club to prosper, I want everybody in the club to prosper, I also want some respect coming from you, because you message is full of attacks and only a bit on intelligence and you're completely wrong about the three years thing & your view of me.

You are basically telling me that José cant last long here, what a news this is ! I think that three years is a lot, I think, over the time, the Chelsea fan, Roman, the board and even the last person interested in CFC knows that sacking José was the worst of decisions, but at that time, the board thought that some one else could do a better job that José, in the end we ended up with one FA Cup in two years (2007/2009) before some good decisions and luck. You cant deny the fact that our football since 2011 is awful, our transfer policy ridiculous, and of course we only had results because of some players that JOSE MOURINHO bought in 2004 (Drogba mainly, Cech) and a bit of luck.I want him back because we won under him and let us in a very good position when he left, I think we are turning into a joke club if we still change managers, I think, with all the money, we could do BETTER, and that starts with José coming back, there is no better decision that to bring him back, GIVE me one manager capable to turn things around and move the club forward ?

We didn't actually sack him though, he left on "mutual agreement"

terms, I know people will claim that was basically a sacking, yet people don't

seem to remember what the atmosphere was like. Not only did we start the season

with some poor results and some dire results, there was constant news

reports of infighting between the board, Jose and the players (if you believe

Makalele's autobiography Terry was directly involved with the toxic atmosphere

that was developing with Jose), so it was not exactly like everything was rosy

then the 'evil' members of the board conspired against him because they did not

like him and wanted him to go.

And here's the thing, Jose is all about Jose, he is a cult of

personality that does it for his personal glory. O.K that’s fine if you want to

have instant success but unless he is given full control which is

becoming rarer in football and clubs that have boards that play a more active

role in the footballing affairs is a fact of life) he will eventually get into conflict

with someone and create a toxic atmosphere. Here it was with the board, and

with Madrid its with both the board and the players. What I'm trying to say is

that he is not the guy that takes clubs forward in the sense that he will put

in the foundations to make the club both in terms how we use players in terms

of acquiring them and replacing them and the general atmosphere in a state

where it can be sustainable. Like I said previously here is hedonism personified,

the kick feels great and it seems to be unstoppable, but once you run out the withdrawal

can be a nightmare.

For example after he left, our fortunes we went in almost complete free

fall. four years after he left we went two seasons without a trophy, one more

premier league title where we could only win by one point and a dressing room

that was too powerful, had too many big egos in it and was a nightmare for

managers to get a grip on it, either being forced out or having to take such a

lax approach that players could almost get away with murder and not be

punished (Ashley Cole shooting someone with an air rifle springs to mind).

Yes, we won a couple of trophies, and you may well say that it was Jose's influence that won them. But that may very well not happen next time. Hell, look at Inter Milan, after he left he created an almost unmanagble dressing room with big egos, but they went the complete opposite way. Choulo said it best:

Yes he completely fucked them, and this is not my own

opinion, but the opinion of most Inter fans. It's extremely hard to

rebuild when you're paying insane amounts of wages for players who can't

play at the highest level. To put in perspective, if I remember

correctly, last season Inter had the biggest wage bill in Europe and

they were a Europa league mid-table team. If that's not fucked up, I

don't know what is.

My intention was not to compare

directly our team to Inter's as it is obvious the same thing won't

happen here, but I wanted to point out that it's not as simple as giving

him power over everything. Jose might be a phenomenal manager, but what

do you know about his negotiation, scouting, business..etc abilities?

This is why I find some of the fan mentality absolutely cringe

worthy - when I read posts like "OMG JOSE'S COMMING HOME!!!" and

"We really need Jose, his going to save us!", its making Jose bigger than

the club, in the sense that they are falling or his cult of personality and trying

to make it that he is Chelsea. You could say that if he was here like Alex at

Man Utd, but he can’t stay at a club for more than 3 years, gets into conflict

with someone in the club and his whole career is going from club to club trying

to give them instant success before bugging off and leaving the club he left to

do the hard work of rebuilding. Is he a great manager, no doubt about it, bout trying

to make it as though Jose and Chelsea are somehow spiritually one, I find nauseating

and insulting to the club. Sure if you want him so it may give us a few

trophies in his short time before moving on then fine. But don't pander that he

is the long term saviour of Chelsea and the club personified, its bollocks.

We are in 2013 and Chelsea live in a completely different world now,

Oh no, oh no, you have to put my line in the right context ! He said that José isnt bigger than 107 of Chelsea's history, something completely no-sense, so I answered that we are in 2013 and financially, we are we are in another world, dont try to take what you want of my words, I also said " the club need mister Mourinho because of his magnificent capacities to win trophies and move the club forward"

Basically you're trying to deny the huge José Mourinho's work and titles by saying the he won by an ugly way and with Roman's money, it is a shame really, because he deserve far more respect, we played superbe football in his two prime seasons at the club, we dominated the league against the Arsenal's and United, we were imbeatable at times, 86 games unbeaten at home before Avram, you cant have such records by playing in a defensive style.
