Bastian Schweinsteiger

If he was to be allowed to leave Bayern i would fancy our chances...if he was Portugese or Spanish then we wouldn`t stand a chance up against Real (or Barcelona) but i think players from other countries see the English and Spanish leagues as equal and in some cases the English league more desirable...also even if i was neutral and a top player i think i would pick Chelsea over Real..if it came down to a purely football related decision...i would think going to Chelsea and helping them win the European Cup for the first time in their history..where i would then become an instant legend..would be more desirable than going to a club where if i didn`t help them win the European Cup every season i would be seen as a failure.

of course this could all be scuppered if Bayern are true to their form and refuse to let him go...even against his wishes, like they have done in the past.

i can`t see them letting him go personally..but it would be awesome if we could get him and if we could get him and Aguero..i think we would be destined to be European Champs in the next two seasons.

I'm sure that us buying Ramires makes the chances of getting Bastian very slim.

I've seen him more than Ramires and have been appreciating his football talent for a while now but unfortunately he won't get to play with Lamps.

Yeah, you got a point there. Lampard, Essien, Benayoun, Mikel, Matic and Ramires will do this season. And besides, Bayern will hardly sell him now after his performance at the World Cup.

Unbelievable. I know many of you hate to hear it, but he's got absolute potential to top our very own Number 8. I am originally from Germany, and believe me that he gets praises well worthy of his ability. Schweinsteiger single handedly orchestrated the German national team through Africa.

He wont top Lampard, but he is a great midfielder, adn he can be a good replacement for him in 3-5 years.

For now, a midfield of essien- lampard- schweinsteiger can be FANTASTIC.

and i dont think real would go for him, they already have khedira and Alonso...

Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has revealed his ambition to play for an English club.

The Germany international, who is contracted at Bayern until 2012, has recently been linked to several Premier League sides, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

And 26-year-old Schweinsteiger has admitted his admiration for the English game, even joking United could exchange him for Wayne Rooney.

"I love the kind of speed of the English game but I don't know what will happen with me," Schweinsteiger said in The Sunday Times.

"I have a contract until 2012 and we'll see.

"What I love is the atmosphere in English stadiums. When we played last year in Manchester it was fantastic.

"My brother is a big fan of Man U and he always says, 'Go to Man U, go to Man U.' I say, 'I can't, I can't."

He laughed: "Maybe they can swap me for Rooney."

Chelsea

Schweinsteiger also expressed his appreciation of Chelsea's approach, adding: "I watch the English games on TV and I like the Chelsea style at the moment. They're very strong."

The midfielder admits his relationship with the Bayern fans has not always been good, and says he admires the loyalty of the English supporters.

"For me, in England the fans are better," he added. "When the team give their best, they are not booing.

"It's more like they are fans more with the heart."

would be one hell of a signing , that is why we won't sign him :D

recently we have proved that we are one of the worst clubs when it comes to negotiations and snatching up players like this . most probably he will end up playing for Man City .

i won't keep my hopes up but he will be a great addition and a near perfect future replacement for Lamps on the long term.
