Not sure if anybody has read the topic and went on the link in the Fernando Torres thread yet but apparently the reason we are getting in Falcao is to replace Torres and not Drogba and that Chelsea are struggling to find buyers for Torres... you know i know i shouldnt listen to rumours but i cant be doing with that, got the new chelsea home shirt today with Torres on the back haha

According to Twitter, they found an australian team interested.

After reflection, I've changed my mind over this transfer... At first I didn't see the point in this... But, it seems it would be a Villas' signing, which mean he has more or less a control over transfers <=> a think we have asking for, for so long.

Okay, we don't need him. That's a fact. However, do Sturridge, Torres and Drogba are corresponding to the kind of player he wants to be leading our attack line ? Or maybe he just wants someone he already knows to play in attack... Or simply he thinks Falcao will improve our front line.

All in all, we don't consider this transfer as being necessary. But this is his team and his players, and maybe for him this transfer is necessary.

I'm like : if he wants this players, that's must be for something. So, I'll give him my confidence over this transfert, just as I was confident in Abramovitch on the manager matter.

Falcao isn't overrated. Did you ever hear someone say he is / will be the best striker around or he is a genious or stuff ? No. There are no reason to say he is overrated. By the way, he has scored 17 goals in Europa League... Not that bad.

Why are you saying that? The main core of the problem regarding Torres is the fact that we have no playmaker! You wouldn't be saying that if either Moutinho or Modric joined us.

The core of the problem was Torres himself. Unless you think Xavi and Iniesta are shit lol

I have to agree that Torres problem wasnt the lack of mid support.

That would be true if he dont receive the balls, but thats not the case, he receive the balls and it was really pathetic how easy he lost all of them and his ridiculous misses.

If AVB is opting for a free flowing passing game, that he supposedly admires, then it won't really matter who is at front provided that someone can finish properly when given the chance.

That being said, its always a good idea to have more than one type of striker for the premier league...we have already have 3 different strikers in Torres, Drogba and Anelka. If Falcao or any othe transfer target proves to better version of one of those three, then it could be a nice move, with that one player going the other way...
