Great option, was the best no. 9 a few years ago. Let's see if Jose can revive him, he admired him when they both were in Madrid.

Small loan fee and reduced wages would be fine (100-150k)

Jose already hinted that the injury problems this year can't happen next year if we want to compete in the CL too, so we will buy for sure. Solanke will be the 4th striker, no chance him or Bamford will be third.

Remy can play on the wings, we've already seem him playing with Diego this year, so no problem. You will lose some winger abilities like great crossing etc, but Remy on the wing gives you extra firepower (goals) upfront.

So, for me El Tigre is welcome!

He will never be another Torres nightmare even if he flops as bad.

Torres was on a 180k a week long term deal, there was simply no way of getting rid of him and we were insistent on building the team around Torres because of the price tag.

If Falcao comes on one year loan with reduced wages and flops he will spend most weeks in the stands while we play Costa and Remy so no big deal in the grand scheme of thing's and even if he could say give us a similar level of performance to what Eto'o gave us that wouldn't be too disastrous either.

Thats true but He's being crap for atleast 2 seasons in a row and has being in sharp decline ever since, why take such risk in the first place. It's not like we are short of players who are good enough to slot in as 3rd choice attacker either.

Also Way better and younger players earn far less than 100k a week which is the fee being quoted and would jump at the opportunity to play for that wage.

We need to get over this obsession of "reviving" players. Once a player has fallen from such dizzying heights of performance, he RARELY ever makes it back to anywhere close to that level. Ronaldinho, Ronaldo9, Rivaldo, Torres, Gascoigne, Raul etc. are proof of that.

"Oh, he's failing because the system doesn't suit him. X manager doesn't know how to use him. If Y was here, he would be scoring 20 goals a year. He's not scoring but creating spaces with his runs. No, he's failing because there aren't enough crosses. No, it's because the tempo is too slow. I am sure a better set of underwear would revive his from"- I have had enough of these reviving theories for one lifetime with Torres. I have seen managers being blamed for Torres. Last thing I would want is for some fan to say Jose is misusing Falcao. Jose is not god. He can't revive what isn't there.

Let's just accept that Falcao is way past his prime. A great player will not look terrible for an extended period of time if he really had it left in him. Sadly, Falcao doesn't. Buying him or loaning him is only going to waste valuable non-HG squad places.

Our third choice needs to be someone adept at playing that role, someone who has experience at coming off the bench in different situations and delivering or someone who can deputise well for the regulars when they're unavailable. Either that, or someone from the academy itching for opportunities. Falcao isn't that player. He has always been first choice wherever he's been and it would be alien to him to perform that role. That's not even counting the money issue.

I don't think we need a third choice striker, we can always convince Solanke or Bamford to play that role. What we need is a goalscoring wide forward to distribute that responsibility more evenly. Bonus points if such wide forward can also play up top if required.

Of course, if the backroom staff is convinced that Costa and Remy cannot be relied upon to stay fit throughout the season, that's another matter.

He can come here, I have no problem with that. Small price, potentially huge reward. At the end Jose will decide. I have that thing, when I watch a match I often miss players that are not on the first page so even though I have seen Falcao in over 10 games this season I feel that I haven't watched him at all. So I literally can't say if he's that crap currently. But few things :

1) Jose is huge admirer of Falcao. He said this countless times at Real, he was caught last year saying that he wants a real striker and named Falcao especially. And Jose has track record of finally getting players that he was after for a long time. So I imagine he could want him even now if he has an opportunity, again he is great admirer of Falcao.

2) Jose and Mendes are friends and it's no secret that Jose often decided to go for a player that is Mendes client. They help each other and it may be the case again. Also it makes that such deals are easier to complete.

3) When he is in form, Falcao is the best no. 9 in the world. I don't know if he lost agility from physical POV and confidence from mental POV. The worst thing would be that he was rushed after injury and he lost everything. Is that the case I don't know but after ripping ACL it often takes one season to get back to form. He had that season behind him now and he should get better I think. It sucks though that he wouldn't have full-preseason with Chelsea. But ACL injuries don't neccesary have an effect on players, just look, Diego Costa and Azpilicueta had the one and look how well they run now ! But the worst thing would be that he was rushed during injury and then it's huge probability that he is a lost cause. Also we're not sure about his age. In Colombia they claimed that he was born in 1984, so he is over 30 now. If that's the case, recovering from ACL injury is very, very difficult.

But all in all I think he is a good option. Jose wants to have 3 recognised strikers and he has one easy to obtain. In 2016 Chelsea will have extra cash from Premier League deal and then they can buy whatever makes team complete to the last page. So far we have pressure needs elsewhere.

As long as he doesn't come here and get an automatic preference over Remy, I don't mind this signing. Nothing he has shown last season warrants a position among the top 2 strikers.

Jose works on merit. The reason drogba played so much is because he provided us a target up top, Remy can't really play with his back to goal.

If we don't sign a true target man(Benteke, Austin) that will mean a change in the way we play next year, likely 4-4-2 in some games.

Watched falcao a few times this year, however, still think he is a top cf.

However, United is not the right team for him nor is Chelsea. Real Madrid would be bad for the world with him and Cristiano attacking balls in the air...

With Cesc and Hazard supplying him I suppose he could reignite his form. But that's only if he actually played regularly...

...which he wouldn't because we have Costa and Remy. Could be a master stroke or a Man United-sequel failure.
