If Atletico sell Falcao they are not going to do in exchange due to their financial troubles. They will want the full £48-50m and if they get the money and buy another striker as people have mentioned they most likely will pursue Cavani or someone. Also even if we get Falcao in January, which I doubt, the likelihood of Torres leaving in January IMO is zero, we will have to wait till the summer. But Falcao or Cavani I will take any of them.
