Charles Aranguiz

Hi friend!

I think that problem could be that Charles Aranguiz might not want to announce his signing for Chelsea until finish Libertadores Cup and he would not offend supporters of International or destabilize His team with such an important agreement in the middle of such an important trophy in America.

But probably if we are interested in his signing we already we will be doing all the paperwork to sign him, but privately. And when he finishes his participation in Copa Libertadores he would join us in preseason directly.

Regarding his fitness, football calendar in South America is different from ours and they are now in the middle of the season. So if we signed him Aranguiz he would have no physical problem to join us. In fact, he would come much better than our players at this time.

Regards.

I understand about it being 1/2 way thru their season thats what I was wondering about.

With us having such a long hard season it doesnt give him any time to rest.

But to me he seems as fit as a butchers dog and always very busy on the pitch so I dont really see there being a problem.

I do hope we have come to agreements with him and his club and he will be joining us.

Yes. The South American calendar can be a problem for us. But, as you say, Aranguiz It is a lung in the midfield and I think he could withstand the full season

with us but Jose should manage well their minutes to not tire him physically.

Hopefully we can close his signing soon. It is a surprise signing, but it is an exciting signing.

Regards.

Rewatched the long highlights (*big recommend) that supporter posted some pages ago. I really like this guy and think we miss this type of character in midfield.

- In the defense we have JT, Azpi, Ivanovic as warriors.

- At the front 4 we have lord Diego to lead the crew.

But in midfield last season, I felt we missed some "hot head". Someone with big character like Ballack. Our midfield was too shy in many games, yes Matic is big but a shy guy. I thought Ramires could do this, but he might not be the perfect long term option.

That's why I've been screaming for someone like Vidal. One could help the build up play, score goals but is also not shy to put in a nasty tackle like Vidal/Alonso/Mascherano.

I won't pretend I know him well, but based on the videos and Copa, I really like him.

Please Chelsea, sign him up, 10-15 Euro's is nothing nowadays!

Seeing reports from Chile, the newspaper La Cuarta confirms that Charles Aranguiz will sign for Chelsea this summer. They quote Telegraph for their information, but they also give some more information about his signing.

according La Cuarta, Charles Aranguiz will sign for Chelsea this summer but first he must end his participation in Copa Libertadores playing the semifinal of the Libertadores Cup (the Champions League of America) with International against Tigres on 14 and 22 July. And then, if International gets to the final Aranguiz would have to play two games more because in the Copa Libertadores the final is over two legs.

And when Arganguiz finished his participation in Copa Libertadores, he could announce his signing for Chelsea. Therefore, we have to wait a bit, but his signing could be possible.

Makes sense because he wasn't going to play for us right away anyways. He strikes me as Fabregas' understudy, a guy that will give him a break every now and again.

 you understand me

We were too soft against big teams. We needed more of a tough side and spine against the big sides. We needed an Essien/Ballack. Vidal would be perferct, but aranguiz is better than ramires and mikel and can pass so 12mil is a good deal.

if you need muscle or develop a tough side, Vidal is better than Aranguiz. Charles can pressure and recover balls, but that is not his strength, so I don't think that he is a substitute for Mikel, for Ramirez or Cesc yes. He is one of the most tactical players of Chile with Diaz, so of course he can provide options because he adapt quite fast, he didn't struggle much when he arrived to Brasil from Chile, which is the most physical team of South America, he also played in Universidad de Chile, the base of Chilean current squad. He is smarter than Vidal or Sanchez and he is not a naive player, this doesn't mean that he is dirty, but knows what the team have to do every time. Should get along with Mourinho. He can keep a steady pace, he thinks every move, he analyse everything, Vidal is powerful horse that follow the ball and use his strenght and talent, Sanchez is the same but more explosive and talented but both act more by instinct, Aranguiz is the opposite in that area. I think he is more than fit for the challenge, my only concern is that he played so many matches in Brasil (the have the national tournament (Brasileirao), the State Tournament, the local Cup and Libertadores), so the only question is how he can struggle after December. (sorry for any grammar mistake I made)

PD: Don't use La Cuarta as reliable force, to check chilean media, use www.emol.com or www.latercera.cl (just in sports).

We'll have to wait around a month then, because the Copa Libertadores final is on 5th August..

Well is coming or What?

Well all the media here mention that is a real possibility, I just state that la Cuarta is not the most serious newspaper in the country.

How would you rate him on the ball? His passing range, vision, composure and dribbling ability?

How would you rate him on the ball? His passing range, vision, composure and dribbling ability?

He is not a dribbler itself, but can surpass players with his technique but he doesn't do that a lot he use passes to move forward with the ball and without it. Hazard can dribble 2 or 3 player and make a cross to the area, if needed Aranguiz will appear to make the cross to the area.

PASSING: he is good in passing, he doesn´t risk the ball, he won't make fantasy passes, and is not as talented as Cesc in this area, but is more than capable to left Costa or any other player alone into the area to shoot or to create spaces..

RANGE: if for range you mean how much field he can cover, well almost all the field, he is a box to box player, as I said he is not explosive but he can be close to the area and then appear to the other side without a problem. He will keep a constant rythm in to the match.

VISSION: as I said before, he is a tactician, so he read the game well, usually he is aware of all his teammates, his range of passing is usually short and middle range but can launch long passes for counterattack.

COMPOSURE: 5/5 he is not naive and at the beggining he must be lectured at how the refferees at Premier act, but I never saw him loss his composure, you hardly see any expression on his face during a match, fully concentrated all the time and have the mental strenght to compite everytime.

DRIBBLING: he can dribble, but is not his best attribute, because he hardly needed due his style of play, Hazard like to surpass players with dribble, Aranguiz appear, dribble what he had to dribble if he had, and then move to the next position.

STRENGHT: despite the size he is strongh enough to deal with bigger players. He can resist normal charges well, he know how to use his body to steal the ball and keep the rythm all the match. He is not a defensive midfielder like Mikel (keep him or buy a another specialist) but can be a good complement to Cesc, Matic and Hazzard.

I hope this help and I know I flatterd him a lot but don't missunderstand he is not a World class player yet, but he can be. He is not the best in anything, however he is far above average in all the categories you asked me, but 1 or 1,5 steps behind WC players like Cesc or Hazzard. I believe Mourinho can push him in that direction because Aranguiz is smart and can glue defense and offense. in Chile we have Sanchez with his freak stamina and speed, Vidal with his crazy strengh and Aranguiz and his brain, he is not a flashy player if you have to create a phrase for him that would be something like: the job must be done.

Chilean media is kinda joke tbh..

they were so sure that Vidal was going to arse when there was actually no contact whatsoever lol

that rumour started from an argentinian journalist from Directv, and then Italy and England, the chilean media take the info from there. The new rumour about Vidal is Real Madrid, but I hope they are wrong.

The way I look at it is we lack creativity CM and all the vids Ive seen he looks a very clever lad. And tho he might not be the hardest guy on the pitch I think he suits our style of play.
