The Copa America Thread

I watched the match against Brazil and I still don't know what people praising Cuadrado were seeing. I see him almost as useless and uninspiring as for us. So one nearly decent free kick that produced a deflected goal must have been the reason he got praise. As I write it as it happened, I still don't get those people.

Yesterday he looked as bad as he was for us. 8 times out of ten when he gets the ball he tries to beat his man by knocking the ball forward and trying out run him. Then he gets shouldered, overpowered, looses the ball, falls to the ground and looks at the ref who obviously gives nothing.

He desperately needs a new trick...

Haven't been keeping up with the tournament apart from the scores .. has it been any good? I tried to watch the Colombia - Peru game the other day and the truly, utterly awful first half had me snoring by the break.

Ive been disappointed with the standard of play . I could also say that about the European U23

Some awful behaviour from their players (Vidal, Jara) coupled with plenty of diving and 'sympathetic' refereeing decisions has got me rooting against Chile in this tournament. A shame, really, as I admire the way the team plays its football.

Peru are the dark horses to win the tournament I think.

if they win this match, then they will have to play the hosts - the way I see the tournament being ran & then add the referee decisions going the way of Chile, it will be hard for Peru to defeat the hosts - if Peru wins this match vs Bolivia, their next opponents will be Chile - I can't see them defeating Chile. Chile will get a dodgy pk or red card in their favor vs Peru. I will agree w/ you, Peru has played nicely in this Copa America - they were very unlucky vs Brazil - that was due to the Brilliance of Neymar
