Chelsea are gaining quite a foothold in South-America. We are already a Brazilian team, I suspect Chelsea is very popular among Brazilians (judging by this forum they are)? Now we have a hand in in Columbia, and I reckon it's not a small market with almost 50 million people.

I don't understand what is the fuss with the shirt numbers, why does it matter if the number is 1 or 99? Obviously a tradition number like 1 to 20 is expected, what is wrong with a 99...etc?

This is gonna be a similar debate to Hull Tiger isn't it LOL

This is football, not american sports, only vulgar small-time clubs who have given up like Milan give attention seeking players crazy numbers.

Eden Hazard was 'awarded' the number 10, these numbers serve a purpose, it's a traditional.. a club controlled hierarchy.

I HATE it when you repeat stuff like this ad nauseam. What does that even mean?!?! Club controlled hierarchy ffs.

If the man wants 74 give him 74.

It prevents players who think they're bigger than the club to stroll in and demand a non-traditional number.. 'just to get attention', it's vulgar.

Hazard went from 17 to 10, Drogba went from 15 to 11; important players are awarded first team numbers based on contribution. Crazy numbers are Americanisms that don't belong in this sport, if your number isn't available you take the equivalent in the 20's and so on, same applies to academy players.
